  • Venus in Scorpio opposite Juno in Taurus (20 deg)

  • Venus in Scorpio sextile Pluto in Capricorn (20 deg)

  • Pluto in Capricorn square Pallas in Libra (20 deg)

  • Pallas in Libra inconjunct Juno in Taurus (20 deg)

An interesting mix of influences today involving Pluto and Venus.

Venus opposite Juno suggests challenges, projections or endings involving a set relationship agreement (Juno) versus intense expressions of love or desire (Venus). What one partner wants may be at odds with the commitment/agreement. Venus rules Taurus, but in Scorpio her energy pushes past Taurus’ limits and demands more extreme expressions. Money and/or love could be an issue. Perhaps one partner wants something deeper, or is projecting their own secrets/obsessions onto a union.

However, Pluto (ruler of Scorpio) makes a supportive sextile to Venus, and Pluto is just moving away from a trine with Juno. So what’s happening is part of a necessary transformation. A new relationship is emerging and the strength of what’s developing will push both partners to look at what lies beneath their commitment.

Pluto makes a tricky square to Pallas in Venus-ruled Libra, suggesting these changes will challenge superficial (Libra) relationship strategies. There may be a social power struggle: a passive-aggressive battle. Pallas in Libra is about keeping it nice and balanced, at all costs – strategic politeness. While it’s important to not allow things to devolve, simply focusing on keeping it nice will not be enough. This is about keeping it real, and Pallas’ inconjunct to Juno indicates tension between social niceties versus the basics of the agreement.

There are three angles here – the social surface, the deeper undercurrents and the material/physical reality of the commitment. All three make up the complete relationship.

Mania and depression in the financial markets

Earlier in December I wrote about the stock market roller coaster of the past year, and since then it’s gotten even crazier, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average careening from 23,693 on December 19th to a low of 21,721 on December 26th, and zooming up over 1000 points yesterday, the biggest single increase in history. I […]

  • Venus conjunct Ceres in Scorpio (19 deg)

  • Mars in Pisces trine North Node in Cancer (26 deg)

Venus/Ceres

Venus/Ceres combines love with nurturing. In the sign of Scorpio, this combination is intensified to an extreme- nurturing and complete love that push the limits.

Since Ceres is also about the cycle of nurturing and loss, this conjunction can suggest loving courageously in the face of loss, or dealing with the fear of loss. Scorpio always has undertones of survival and uncovering hidden resources, so you may find that you access deep wells of strength and abundance you didn’t realize were there.

Whether this involves the nurturing of self or others, this is where you have to dig deep and commit absolutely to what you want or love.

Mars/North Node

Mars trine the North Node activates the path forward (towards emotional sustainability) with fluid/creative actions. This is about stepping towards something that feels (Cancer) authentic, but there’s an intuitive energy- go where it feels most natural and allow your actions to unfold rather than forcing anything. And this could also mean moving towards something that makes you feel vulnerable.
