May 30th, 2019: Big Words and Hard Commitments

  • Mercury in Gemini opposite Jupiter Rx in Sagittarius (20 deg)

  • Venus in Taurus trine the South Node in Capricorn (18 deg)

  • Saturn Rx in Capricorn opposite Juno in Cancer (19 deg)

Mercury/Jupiter

Something will sound really good, but the facts are contrary to hopes/ideals. Any aspect to Jupiter can be positive, and an opposition can sometimes point to an expansive result. Plus, Jupiter is Rx so you’re returning to this issue. But Mercury opposite Jupiter can mean unrealistic promises or difficulty focusing on a specific fact because the conviction that you’re right (no matter what the facts say) pulls you away from the information.

This is the aspect of big talk and massive opinions, but accuracy will be in question.

Venus/South Node

In contrast to the above, this is a quietly reassuring aspect. You can depend on something/someone from the past. Or, a habit/tradition is favourable. Now, this may or may not be the best thing- maybe you’re enabling a not-so-healthy habit or association because it delivers the goods. Consider if the familiarity of this issue is stabilizing or stagnating.

Saturn/Juno

A return to, or emphasis on, rules/commitments will restrict a nurturing agreement. Juno in Cancer is the relationship agreement that values security, but the opposition to Saturn Rx suggests restrictions and a lack of empathy. How rigid are those rules? Are you ready to restrict yourself in favour of someone else’s authority? Parental dynamics are prominent.

In some cases, this aspect can point to the end of agreement or an official separation.

May 29th, 2019: Waning Sextile and Mercury Square Neptune

  • Waning Sextile between the Aries Moon and Gemini Sun (7 deg)

  • Mercury in Gemini square Neptune in Pisces (18 deg)

The Waning Sextile suggests new impulses can accelerate the flow of information or push you to make a choice. There can be an increased sense of urgency to communicate or check out new facts. This will happen smoothly, so the urgency will happen without pressure – you can even ignore this if you want. However, it would be to your benefit to go with the flow and pay attention to anything new/exciting/passionate that’s grabbed your attention.

Having said that, the Mercury/Neptune square can raise some tricky signals. What’s true and what’s not will be difficult to discern. It may be challenging to focus on one issue or deliver a clear message. While Neptune can encourage you to look at/say more (as it dissolves limits) and this can accelerate the flow of the Waning Sexilte, you want to pay attention to the facts. Make sure that the information is accurate, and don’t succumb to the temptation to blur what you’re not certain about.

Only proceed with what makes sense and what’s clear.

Astrology of Now: Carnage on Everest

Mountains house the gods — Shiva on Kailash, Zeus and the fam on Olympus, Ruwa on Kilimanjaro, Salcantay and Veronica in the Andes. To go to the mountain, to climb the mountain, means getting closer to god. Athos and Ararat, Kailash and Kanchenjunga are places of pilgrimage. What does it mean that the world’s highest mountain, Everest, the Holy Mother in Tibetan, becomes a playground for the wealthy? Another trophy to bag? Another brag? Another rich person’s goal? Apparently, it costs between £50,000 and £90,000 to make the ascent. Once upon a time, there was a kind of romance to […]
