  • Libra Sun opposite Chiron RX in Aries (3°)

  • Mercury in Libra square Pluto RX in a Capricorn (20°)

The theme today is harmony challenged by uncomfortable truths. Don’t expect things to go smoothly, but there will be extreme valueI in the tension.

The Sun illuminates Chiron’s pain or vulnerability but you may experience it through another. The opposition is an aspect of projection and Libra strongly emphasizes protection. So this could involve projected wounds, or seeing your pain reflected in the eyes of another. Social or relationship purposes can be compromised by wounds that are not owned. Feeling like a victim (everyone is out to get you) is a possibility.

On the plus side, there is a chance to access empathy through another’s difficulties. Keep an eye out for unbalanced situations where a wound becomes the main purpose. Consider if there is a way to correct that imbalance by courageously confronting what hurts. Make the switch from victim to warrior.

Note that the Sun conjoined Chiron On March 22 at 1° Aries. This oppositionIs the result of what began around that date.

Mercury/Pluto will add some difficult but valuable undertones to the above. The crisis between socially acceptable words versus dark truths will create pleasant conversations with a sharp or manipulative edge. Pay attention to the tone and how someone’s words make you feel, even if that feeling seems contrary to what they’re saying. This means you’re becoming aware of the passive- aggressive or obscured desire for power/fear of losing power.

Pluto in any aspect to Mercury always reveals rich truths. The darker the truth the richer it is. This can give you more fuel to deal with the Sun/ Chiron opposition. If you stay on your toes and really listen to what’s being said, you’ll gain access to the entire picture; it will be uncomfortable but very fruitful.

Baroness Hale’s Spider Brooch

Baroness Brenda Hale, head of the Supreme Court, delivered the devastating verdict on the government’s attempt at prorogation, yesterday. Her language was exceptionally clear and easy for even the most unlearned friend to understand. Also she looks like a sweet grandma out of a story book but she wears a giant spider on her left shoulder. Does that sound like an archetype to you? She really is rocking the Pluto meets Saturn look here. So I had to look at her chart — just quickly. I don’t have a birth time, of course, but ladies & gents, take a look at […]

New Moon in Libra September 2019 – Justice

The New Moon occurs at 19:26 (BST) on September 28, 2019 at 05°Li20′. These are intense times.  The proroguing of the UK government has been ruled as unlawful, pulling the Queen herself into a messy position. Currently our sovereign has Pluto conjunct her Ascendant so between Boris Johnson’s attempts to deceive her over proroguing, David […]

Astrology of Now: The Law

Well, yesterday was quite the day for the law and democracy on both sides of the Atlantic. In London, the Supreme Court found that the government, and therefore Prime Minister Boris Johnson had broken the law when it suspended parliament. In fact, Judge Hale said that legally the “prorogation” did not happen. So parliament is back in business today. In the US, top democrat Nancy Pelosi has finally started an impeachment enquiry against Trump. “No one is above the law,”  she said. Both these legal decisions will have long-term effects on the law in both countries. The British Supreme Court […]

September 25th, 2019: Venus Square Saturn And The Nodes

Lilla Cabot Perry

Lilla Cabot Perry

  • Venus in Libra square Saturn in Capricorn (13°)

  • Venus in Libra Square the Nodes (14°)

Venus square Saturn (ruler of the Capricorn South node) will place restrictions on what you want and love. These restrictions will be rules, obligations or traditions from the past. The pressure to conform or hold back will create an imbalance (Libra). You may feel less attractive or you may not get what you want in a relationship. The exchange of love and affection will be unequal-perhaps one person simply has nothing to give.

But since Venus is squaring the Nodes, those restrictions are pushing you towards a crossroads. You will have to acknowledge what you cannot have while also looking towards the future (Cancer North Node). The future is more emotional, nurturing and giving but it’s not familiar. So even if what you know it is unpleasant, there may be hesitation to move forward. It’s always your choice: you may have to make a decision about a relationship or a situation that impacts your self-esteem. Look at what you can’t have and where your responsibilities lie, and then consider what you can have (it’s ahead of you).
