New Moon Eclipse in Leo

Eclipse.jpg

The August 11th New Moon eclipse in Leo (18 deg, 5:57 AM EDT) is a doozy.

It’s the focal point of a Yod, which means “challenges.”

The Sun and Moon conjoin in Leo , which is a new beginning that features pride, power and attention. The Big Deal. The Sun/Moon conjoin Pallas, so we include strategies, and Mercury Rx, so we also include a clarification of what the Mercury Rx cycle (reviews, delays) has been about. The Sun conjoins Mercury Rx on August 8th, which is the midpoint of the Mercury Rx cycle and (hopefully) the ray of illumination that lets you know why everything has been happening.

Mercury Rx can be a person from your past or a messenger who drops some dramatic info. This will all be part of the eclipse.

But the Yod. Well, the Sun/Moon conjunction makes an inconjunct to Pluto Rx in Capricorn and Neptune Rx in Pisces. Neptune and Pluto sextile each other, suggesting power (Pluto) with transcendent (Neptune) abilities. The mystic, the universal transformation, the magnetic dream. But when these energies are focused (via the inconjunct) onto Leo, there is the potential to lose track of the higher vibrations and attempt to dominate others or exercise power just because. It can easily go off the rails.

Neptune can undermine Leo’s pride and Pluto can intensify things to the point where it becomes an issue of pure dominance.

That’s not what this eclipse is about. Ideally, you would focus on a higher purpose (there is a higher purpose…it’s not just about you) through your creative drive and make it sing as you connected to the collective (the universal purpose).

Or, you could collapse under the weight of this challenge as you try to make it about a superficial gain or ego issue.

Jupiter in Scorpio will square this eclipse, so the new beginning will feel grand. You’ll want to put it all out there and show the world. But you have to remember it’s the point of a Yod – it won’t feel quite right if you try to just make it about the flash, the glam or the celebration. There’s more.

Note that Juno (contracts, agreements) opposes Jupiter, so this new beginning will also involve the polarity between expectations (Jupiter) versus the reality of a partnership agreement (Juno). This could be a new agreement/commitment, or a realization that a current agreement will never work. But Mercury Rx is in there, so this won’t be a brand new issue – you’ve discussed this previously.

Jupiter will trine Neptune, so there’s your hint- the spiritual/transcendent  side of things will be expanded. Yes, you can take this further if you’re going in the right direction.

The emergence of Q-anon at the lunar eclipse

Eclipses are often associated with the unmasking of something which has been secret or repressed, and a lunar eclipse, which occurs at the Full Moon, can expose the creatures of the night such as cockroaches and werewolves. So it’s not totally shocking that the underground right wing conspiracy group called QAnon has suddenly emerged into the […]

Saturn In Capricorn For Aries – Clash!

I’ve been working with a lot people with planets in Aries lately.   I think this is due to Saturn’s transit through Capricorn as well as all the planets that are retrograde at this time.  Aries speeds things up.  Progress seems … Read More…

August 2nd, 2018: Waning Trine

  • Moon in Aries trine Sun in Leo: 9 deg (2:03 AM EDT)
  • Moon in Aries trine Pallas in Leo: 12 deg
  • Moon in Aries square Pluto Rx in Capricorn: 19 deg
  • Moon in Aries trine Mercury Rx in Leo: 20 deg

No action with the planets or asteroids today, but we are in a key moment of the lunar cycle.

The warrior Aries Moon makes a Waning Trine to the proud Leo Sun, as creativity and dignity integrate easily with courage and initiative. This energy encourages you to put it out there – others should be receptive and will give you that desired appreciation. There’s an audience waiting.

As the Moon goes on to trine Pallas, strategies about how to implement the above should roll out easily. There will be no shortage of initiative and bold battle plans.

But it won’t all be smooth sailing. The Moon’s square to Pluto suggests moments of compulsion and aggressive pushing. This will not be necessary (although it may feel necessary) because we are in the Moon’s Disseminating phase – wisdom and talents are shared easily with others. This is not your moment to dominate (there’s no struggle, no fight). You may feel like you have to attack or defend, but consider where that’s coming from. What’s the base impulse?

The Moon’s last aspect before she goes Void of Course (at 10:50 PM EDT) is a trine to Mercury Rx. The flow is restored as you reach back for those creative thoughts, or an idea/contact from the past reappears. This is instinctive communication- just say what feels right, and it should come out beautifully.

The Moon will be VOC until August 3rd, 3:50 PM EDT. If you’re launching/starting/making plans, ideally you want to do it before 10:50 PM Aug 2nd and after 3:50 PM Aug 3rd.
