  • Leo Sun squares Uranus in Taurus (2 deg)
  • Leo Sun trines Chiron Rx in Aries (2 deg)

There are a few ways to interpret the above combo. The shock (Uranus) leads to a healing confrontation (Chiron). The sudden drama allows you to process what hurts. The courage to stand out in a truly weird way is part of your healing process.

Uranus square anything in Leo is the abrupt display – it will be public and will garner a ton of attention. Why that happens will depend on the reason for the surprise. What needs to be made public? Is there a lack of pride or appreciation? Leo also means “dignity” but sometimes this can be lost in the lust for confirmation from others. The audience is always a crucial factor with Leo.

In general, I would say this one feels like something that has to come out, although the method will be a bit risky. When dealing with a square from Uranus, check your first impulse. It’s a sign that you need to change something, but chances are your first instinct about how to do that is not the best. Sun square Uranus is the maverick, and when Leo is involved, it’s the maverick who thumbs his/her nose at the public in a very obvious and shocking way. But the end goal is still to get attention.

And that end goal will also involve the courage (Aries and Leo) to go public (Leo) with the wound (Chiron). There’s your healthy focus – how can coming out with it help you confront your demons?

Juno and the Axis of Desire

This year Juno, the asteroid named after the goddess of marriage and commitment, will be spending a long time in Taurus, a sign associated with passion, desire, obstinacy and obsession. Taurus is, of course, the opposite sign to Scorpio — also a sign known for obsession, obstinacy and lust. Together, these two, fixed earth and water, create a powerful axis of desire and ownership across the Zodiac. Taurus asks: “What do I want?” Scorpio replies: “I can give you what you desire, but you must pay the price.” These signs are associated with sex and money, jealousy and enslavement. The […]

Planetary news this week! Mercury retrograde and a total lunar eclipse

lunar eclipse July 27

Deviant Art.  Mercury is in its shadow period now, moving at a snails space as it prepares to turn retrograde.  (Most people know by know that Mercury doesn’t actually travel backwards, or retrograde but because we observe the motion of the planets from Earth they sometimes appear to move backwards from our perspective which we call […]

July 24th, 2018: Venus Opposite Neptune

  • Venus in Virgo opposes Neptune Rx in Pisces: 16 deg

Venus in Virgo has exacting standards for money, relationships and self-esteem. There is an urge for perfection, purity and improvement. Neptune can either expand these goals as you attempt to transcend your reality with the perfect relationship, the perfect appearance, etc. or erode the facts so all that’s left is the urge to sacrifice in the name of love.

Nothing wrong with transcendence, and a bit of sacrifice can be grounding. But when taken too far (which will happen with this opposition) you can end up chasing the impossible or becoming a victim. One of the Virgo archetypes is slave. Think about this – what/who are you a slave to?

If you’re wallowing in sadness or disappointment because you just know that you’ll never be good enough/beautiful enough, that’s another Neptune trick – you avoid reality (and possible solutions) by diving into the “nevers” and refusing to come up for air. Why bother when you’ll never be happy?

Watch out for extremes. Perfect love/beauty and and total ugliness/ impurity are two sides of the same Venus/Neptune coin.

Projection is the biggest risk- victim/saviour, nurse/patient, virgin/whore. The projections can go either way – you’re the target or the projector. Make sure you’re taking ownership of your issues, and if someone is projecting onto you, know that you don’t have to take on their stuff. You are not their projection. Consider how love and help work in your life – do you want to be healed/do they want to be healed? Not everyone needs to be fixed and not everyone is capable of helping.

In general, a Venus/Neptune opposition suggests romantic illusion, unrequited love or avoidance of the real relationship/money/self-esteem issue. If it’s all their fault, that’s a red flag. If they are your dream come true…another red flag. Try to stay grounded today, and if there’s anything you’re avoiding, it’s a good bet that you’re allowing Neptune to dissolve what you know is right or true.
