Mercury conjunct Venus Rx in Scorpio (8 deg)
When Mercury unites with Venus in Scorpio, words are sweet and intense. Information is lucrative and research can uncover something deeply beneficial. Getting back in touch, or revisiting the issues, can tap into a pool of love, pleasure and resources.
Ask again and see what happens.
By itself, this energy brings purely positive developments. But there are a couple of extras.
Venus is Rx, which means what you’re discussing/learning may be a revision of what came before. There’s much more to uncover. Relationships, values and finances will offer up what was previously obscured.
Mercury has already squared BML and Venus Rx will do the same on October 17th. While there’s positive potential here, you can’t ignore the tension arising from an awareness of what’s outcast or unacceptable. This is not just about pretty words – what you’re currently discovering (the deeper layer) is being thrown into sharp relief by an outside agitation.
What taboos need to be confronted? What truths are emerging about challenging, rebellious and possibly ugly events? Positive can exist alongside frightening or uncomfortable. Don’t ignore the full scope of this contrast. I still see this as beneficial, but you have to look at the entire picture that’s emerging.
As a reminder, Black Moon Lilith is about the outcast woman, made more powerful because of her outsider status. She refuses to submit, and in Aquarius, she is truly the social rebel. BML represents women’s sexual power and the sides of a woman that many people do not want to accept (the witch, the mistress, the prostitute, the female demon, the sexual woman who is judged for being sexual, the truth-teller).
Mars is moving forward while Venus is moving back. Mercury in Scorpio is moving into conjunction with retrograde Venus, exact Monday, as it moves into square with Aquarius Mars. With all three in fixed signs, we’re looking at emerging frustrations … Read More…

The battles that seemed so important to fight, back at the Virgo New Moon, are becoming faint memories; the swords of dharma are now at rest. There are times to be fierce, and by nature some of us are better suited to those times. But it’s important to know when to retire the sword in favor of a gentler approach.

I was talking to someone last week, she’s facing something I had to face when I was her age. I’d have not put this together had she not asked me a direct question about my life. I realized I suffered … Read More…

A new Patreon post (for $1 Patrons) is up: transiting Saturn through the 4th, the bottom of your chart. Why is it so difficult? …

The October 24th Full Moon (1 deg Taurus) conjoins Uranus Rx, so you know this ending/result is going to be a tad disruptive.
Uranus always brings a surprise or liberation, although it may be less so with a Full Moon because this is a result – it’s not coming out of nowhere. Moon/Uranus opposes Venus Rx in Scorpio (which conjoins the Sun) and Venus rules this Moon. So the surprise will involve relationships, money or values with an emphasis on what’s best for you – what contributes to or undermines your security.
Venus in Scorpio has already opposed Uranus once (September 12th, 2018) and now she’s Rx and doing it again. (although technically her second opposition won’t be exact until October 31st). So this really is a repeat – you’ve been here before. You’ve heard the call to liberation before.
It could be a disruptive ending or an unexpected (and beneficial) gift. You never know with Uranus, although the hints have been laid out since September 12th.
What’s more, this Full Moon/Venus/Uranus will square the South Node in Aquarius and North Node in Leo. A square to the Nodes means this is a pivotal issue. Again, you’ve been here before and had an opportunity to turn this corner. Venus previously squared the Nodes on September 16th, and while her next, exact square square won’t be until October 30th the energy is still part of this Full Moon. Something you wanted/loved either kept you from moving forward or you needed to manifest it so you could move forward. Think back to September. How did your values support or block your progress? Can you carry what you want forward, or would it be better to cut that cord?
South Node in Aquarius is the past – moving on from detachment, alienation, rebellion to the future (North Node) which is about finding your center in an area that makes you proud. The rulers of the Nodes (Sun and Uranus) oppose each other, which means this is a significant crossroads – you’re at the point where you can choose to step into the light (the place where you have pride) or you can stay on the edge and remain detached. North Node in Leo asks you to care about yourself, your talents and your audience. It’s not “cool” or laid back but sometimes you have to step up and put yourself out there.
But there is a note of stability, and that’s Saturn in Capricorn making a trine to the Moon and Uranus. You can integrate these changes if you follow the rules or apply the focus. Uranus and Saturn means new rules but the trine delivers them in a natural manner. The key is focus, focus, focus – you must apply some sort of discipline to what’s happening. Do your work.
The god of communications, Mercury, and Venus, the planet of peace and love, meet a few times a year to catch up on some gossip and maybe even steal a kiss. These two usually get along well since much of the time they are either in the same sign or sextiling — at least by sign. At this month’s rendezvous, on October 15/16, it looks as if Venus and Mercury may be sharing a secret or two since they are in subtle Scorpio. Mercury is direct, of course, and about to meet with Jupiter at the end of Scorpio; Venus, […]
