Mercury’s Transit of Leo and Mercury Rx

Mercury enters Leo on June 26th. Words are juiced up with creativity, pride and glam. Ideas have added power as they grab attention – this is the transit of bold statements with an uncompromising edge (Leo is a Fixed sign).

Mercury in Leo can speak generously, beautifully and joyously if the speaker feels appreciated. But if the ego is bruised, this transit can trigger dramatic expressions of look-at-me anger that are out of proportion to the issue. Nothing will be said lightly during this transit.

Mercury also stations Rx in Leo, so there will be reviews and questions about the initial bold statements. This means that what you hear or say (at first) should not be taken at face value. Even if the words are delivered with incendiary charisma and the full force of conviction, there will be reason to look again. Mercury Rx in Leo asks “Is this really the best? Is there something else going on behind the shine?”

As Leo is also the sign of self-expression and creativity, this retrograde will give you a chance to refine your words so they communicate who you really are/what you really think. Now, when you go through the Rx process of reviews/second guessing, there may be some censorship. But the ultimate purpose will be for you to run those ideas through the forge a second or third time, so by the time Mercury stations direct your ideas will be solid gold and honed to perfection. Mercury in Leo can be the celebratory voice.

Mercury’s Rx will take it back into Cancer, so part of this process will involve looking inwards to reconnect with essential truths. Once you connect with the truth in the pit of your stomach, you can work on rephrasing or seeing the information in a new light.

As always with Mercury Rx, expect delays, miscommunications and messages/messengers from the past. Mercury direct is when you should see progress.

Here are the aspects Mercury will make:

  • Jun 29th: trine Ceres Rx in Sagittarius (1 deg)

  • Jul 7th: Rx at 4 deg

  • Jul 8th: conjunct Mars (4 deg)

  • Jul 18th: trine Ceres in Sagittarius (0 deg)

  • Jul 19th: returns to Cancer

  • Jul 21st: conjunct Sun (28 deg)

  • Jul 24th: conjunct Venus (26 deg)

  • Jul 31st: direct at 23 deg

  • Aug 11th: returns to Leo

  • Aug 13th: trine Ceres in Sagittarius (2 deg)

  • Aug 15th: trine Chiron Rx in Aries (5 deg)

  • Aug 16th: square Uranus Rx in Taurus (6 deg)

  • Aug 19th: inconjunct Black Moon Lilith in Pisces (12 deg)

  • Aug 21st: inconjunct Saturn Rx in Capricorn (14 deg)

  • Aug 21st: trine Jupiter in Sagittarius (14 deg)

  • Aug 22nd: inconjunct Neptune Rx in Pisces (17 deg)

  • Aug 24th: inconjunct Pluto Rx in Capricorn (21 deg)

  • Aug 26th: square Vesta in Taurus (24 deg)

  • Aug 29th: Virgo ingress

A Few Reasons Why Jupiter’s Not Always Fabulous

A reader wrote to me: “I am supposed to have Jupiter in my first house of Sag all year but it’s been just awful!” And asked me why this was so. Here is my response. This is a good question. 1. We tend to over-egg the whole luck thing with Jupiter in an attempt to look on the bright side, and forget that above all Jupiter magnifies. So in your first house he can make you somehow “larger”. This has a good side. Do you want to be noticed? Or be pregnant? But it also can go the other way. […]

Moon-Tracking the Dem Debates June 26/27, 2019

There’s an appropriate midpoint picture that forms during both Democratic Debates the evenings of June 26 and 27, 2019: Venus-Neptune = Uranus (@5Tau+): ‘the politics of vanity and deceit’ (Munkasey). Noel Tyl adds potentials for: ‘intensified fantasy setting up impractical expectations; going too far’; and/or, ‘susceptibility to exploitation through ego aggrandizement’. Well, all these

June 25th, 2019: Last Quarter Square and a Grand Trine

Last Quarter.jpg

  • Moon in Aries trine Juno in Leo (2 deg)

  • Moon in Aries trine Ceres Rx in Sagittarius (2 deg)

  • Last Quarter Square between the Aries Moon and Cancer Sun (3 deg)

  • Moon conjunct Chiron (5 deg)

  • Juno in Leo trine Ceres Rx in Sagittarius (2 deg)

Last Quarter Square

Here we have a crisis between strength and vulnerability. You were safe, relying on what was familiar. But that’s starting to feel suffocating, and a restless impulse emerges to assertively question family or security. This may be a brand new issue, and the Moon’s conjunction to Chiron indicates that it will involve an uncomfortable mix of putting yourself out there (Aries) while being vulnerable. Perhaps there’s a family wound that needs to be confronted.

Grand Fire Trine

But the Moon is also part of a Grand Fire Trine involving Juno (partnership agreements) and Ceres (nurturing). So there’s a smooth flow of vibrant, confident energy that encourages bold questions and confrontations. Juno trine Ceres is the nurturing agreement which encourages pride and confidence between partners. If we add in Moon/Chiron, it suggests support (via this agreement) for these new questions that make you feel vulnerable. Or, perhaps there can be an agreement to confront the uncomfortable stuff.

Either way, you can tap into this energy to help you through the tension of the Last Quarter Square.

Trump a TransPluto figure but Saturn-Pluto time nears
