I’ve been like a bear with a sore head for the last day or so. You know the mood – spoiling for an argument, feeling tired in my bones, overwhelmed, unable to focus. I’ve felt as though there’s too much my brain is trying to manage so now it’s leaking words, ideas, and whatever else. …

Scorpio New Moon: Managing Energetic Overwhelm
Scorpio rules the deep invisible realms, what the five senses cannot detect, but we “know” and “feel” in our gut – like energy. Energy is invisible, moving around us all the time. That is the truth. Yet we don’t often acknowledge the truth that the funk we’re feeling is actually funky stuff we’re picking up […]
Scorpio New Moon: Sparks
We’re reminded at the Scorpio New Moon how easily accidents, illness, and murderers can take our bodies, at any moment. But when we love another person, we have the sense of creating something deathless.

New Moon in Scorpio: Dive In

The November 7th New Moon at 15 deg Scorpio trines Neptune Rx in Pisces. This can give new beginnings a deeply idealistic or healing quality. Trines in water signs indicate events that flow smoothly and easily, especially when Neptune (which dissolves boundaries) is involved.
What begins should roll forward naturally. Or, you may slip into some deep waters before you know what’s happening. Scorpio energy is profound, dark and completely honest: you sink past the secrets and get to the truth.
However, it is encouraging that Jupiter in Scorpio is making an exact trine to the Cancer North Node on this same day and both are trining Chiron Rx in Pisces (29 deg). So there is a Grand Water Trine that encourages you to move forward (North Node) towards a place of inner security and emotional authenticity – this is where you can access some serious healing as you revisit an old wound (Chiron Rx). Jupiter expands the issue so you can’t miss it.
The North Node is ruled by this Moon, so what begins will be an important part of this entire Nodal transit through Cancer/Capricorn. Which is to say, moving past external, rigid definitions of security (Capricorn) towards internal, nurturing security. What really matters, in your gut. What feels (Cancer) real. I’ll write more about this Nodal transit on the day of the ingress (November 6th).
All this Scorpio action might feel a bit heavy, especially if you’re not comfortable with “the feels.” The New Moon could herald increased access to intense emotions, or an event that swamps you with more honesty than you’re prepared for. But it’s all good – sometimes you have to dive in and just feel it. Neptune can soften things a bit by diffusing the intensity, and Jupiter trine Chiron Rx (this aspect was exact on November 1st) can lift you past the pain, once you confront it.

October 31st, 2018: Looking Deeper and Stepping Back

Third Quarter Square between the Leo Moon and Scorpio Sun (8 deg)
Venus Rx in Scorpio opposite Uranus Rx in Taurus (0 deg)
Venus Rx returns to Libra
Third Quarter Square
The Third Quarter Square brings an internal crisis, as bold, bright (possibly celebratory) energies hi-light the contrast between light and dark. Something is grabbing your attention, but you may not feel like examining the contrast it triggers. However, looking deeper or confronting the specter of loss, powerlessness or massive change is necessary. A new beginning awaits, but you can’t access it unless you’re prepared to acknowledge what’s dying (or your own Shadow issues).
Venus Rx
Adding to the above, the Venus/Uranus opposition suggests an ending or culmination that’s been in the works for awhile (you may have encountered it on September 12th, 2018 when Venus in Scorpio first opposed Uranus). A jolt of clarity, or desire for freedom, will add to the re-evaluations that Venus Rx in Scorpio has stirred up. Here’s your moment of truth.
This jolt may push you back a step or two, as Venus’ return to Libra indicates a second look at the balance between you and another, or the social balance in your life. Surface issues will be questioned – is everything really ok?
Check out my post on Venus’ transit of Libra for a more detailed look at this portion of Venus’ Rx, as well as specific aspects.
October 30th, 2018: The Turning Point

Mercury in Scorpio opposite Juno Rx in Taurus (29 deg)
Venus Rx in Scorpio square South Node in Aquarius/North Node in Leo (0 deg)
Mercury/Juno Rx raises questions about a previous contract or relationship agreement. What seemed to be set in stone may now be challenged, as someone wants to look deeper or ask uncomfortable questions. Too, this opposition could indicate the finalization of a commitment from September 28th.
Venus Rx square the Nodes adds more info to the relationship issue. The review of, or return to, an intense exploration of values, self-esteem or love beneath the surface will bring you to a major turning point – what you want/love will be the deciding factor regarding staying on the edge, remaining detached/alienated versus stepping up and claiming your place at the center. This can be the center of anything that increases your pride, power and sense of purpose. The key will be committing yourself to something that matters to you and builds your self-esteem.
It’s significant that this square is happening just before Venus Rx returns to Libra (Oct 31st) and the Nodes enter Cancer/Capricorn (November 6th). This adds emphasis to an already significant turning point, because it precedes a huge, energetic shift. This will be your last chance to address certain issues, although Venus will square the Nodes again on November 28th (from Libra). But that will involve different themes.
October 28th, 2018: Mercury Sextile Pallas

Mercury in Scorpio sextile Pallas in Virgo (26 deg)
Any harmonious connection between Mercury and Pallas blends intellect/communication with strategy and pattern recognition, for a firing-on-all-cylinders influence – you’ve got the detailed, effective strategies (Pallas in Virgo) expressed via intense words (Mercury in Scorpio).
Great for communicating precise solutions/patterns with depth and impact. However, the sextile is a soft aspect (there’s no motivating tension) so if you want to take full advantage of this one you’ll need to keep your eyes open and actually say something when the time is right. This could be challenging, because Scorpio is not chatty sign. Nonetheless, a few, carefully chosen words can make a significant impression.
Eight Things To Do While The Sun is in Scorpio
It’s Scorpio time again — the “fixed” period of autumn. Fixed water: ice. Which says quite a bit about Scorpio itself, because ice is, of course, both beautiful and dangerous, delicious and special, wet and hard. Think about that…. Here are a few things you can do to get into the spirit of the season. Scare yourself silly in the library. That means either rewatching Buffy or picking up a copy of Dracula — still one of the scariest books I have ever read. Become a detective. In the North, the trees are shedding their leaves now, revealing what lies […]

October 27th, 2018: Heavy But Manageable

Sun in Scorpio sextile Saturn in Capricorn (4 deg)
A rather serious vibe today, but not too harsh. Scorpio’s depth is solidified by Saturn – if you’re on some kind of descent, you will only go so far (as far as you need to go). There’s a duty here, or a confirmation. It won’t be joyous and it may feel a bit heavy, but it will be quite manageable.
The sextile is a gentle aspect that promises integration of depth/profound change/transformation with rules and boundaries.
Do what you need to do and know that the path will be laid out for you.
