April 5th, 2017: Patience Required

  • Mars in Taurus trine Pluto in Capricorn: 19 degrees
  • Saturn stations Rx in Sagittarius: 27 degrees

Conscious, deliberate actions (Mars) harmonize with unconscious impulses and power (Pluto). The result is tremendous will that flows naturally. You can uncover something valuable, or make gradual progress. Taurus grounds Capricorn’s ambition in the present, and Capricorn prods Taurus forward.

But don’t expect quick or showy results. Earth signs (especially Taurus) move slowly. And Saturn Rx (ruler of Capricorn) will intensify responsibilities, delay goals, or call for a reassessment of the rules. Any progress you make may feel incremental, or useless. Don’t get discouraged – you’re doing something real, although the final results may not be apparent for some time. Saturn will station direct on August 25th (21 degrees Sagittarius) and Mars will conjoin the Leo North Node on August 27th (at 24 degrees). Actions will be aligned with attention-grabbing progress, and it will be obvious (Leo).

Until then, it’s a time of patience and steady action. You can push past a block, and it should happen naturally. Yes, even with Saturn Rx. Overcoming that block may be part of the review process. Trust that your efforts are making a difference.

Note that Saturn stations Rx on the evening of April 5th or morning of April 6th, depending on your time zone.

March 30th, 2017: The Jupiter/Pluto Square

  • Jupiter Rx in Libra square Pluto in Capricorn: 19 degrees

Today features the second of three, Jupiter/Pluto squares. Similar to the first square back in November 24th, 2016, Jupiter escalates Pluto’s drive for power, and Pluto reveals the underbelly of Jupiter’s expansion. What’s behind the optimism? The square indicates a struggle, so Jupiter’s hopes and ideals may have a shadow side. Read this post for a more detailed description.

This time around, Jupiter is Rx. There’s a return to a previous opportunity or ideal.  Another shot at success, or another attempt to push the limits. Yes, this aspect can indicate success, but you can also go too far and end up triggering a severely imbalanced power struggle. Ultimately, this aspect is about big (Jupiter) transformation (Pluto). The Cardinal nature of the signs and square means “action.” You can do something significant – you’re not stuck (although you may be struggling to move forward). Just be aware of what you’re trying to gain, and why.

Brexit: Pluto’s Plaything

Well, it had to happen eventually. Prime Minister Theresa May will start the legal process of Brexit tomorrow. For the United Kingdom to leave the European Union she must “trigger” Article 50, the relevant piece of legislation, by writing an official letter to the European Commission. She has chosen to do this on March 29. As some of you may recall, the chart for the Brexit vote on June 21, 2016 had Pluto Rising. Tomorrow’s charts also have Pluto’s fingerprints all over them. In a nutshell, Pluto is about death and rebirth: something wiped out in order for something else to come, slash and […]

March 23rd, 2017: Hard Thoughts

George Grie

George Grie

  • Mercury in Aries square Pluto in Capricorn: 19 degrees
  • Saturn in Sagittarius square Pallas in Pisces: 27 degrees

A day of hard words and enforced focus.

Mercury/Pluto can bring verbal confrontations, with more going on beneath the surface. Power and domination will be the subtext, but the words may say something different. Look beneath the aggressive, verbal push for the real truth. In some cases, this aspect could signify a crisis resulting from building pressure. If someone is finally speaking up, the words could come out more harshly than intended. Mercury square Pluto goes for the jugular, but the intent is unconscious.

Saturn/Pallas will put limits on intuition and creative strategy. Proof will be demanded. Rules will define the effectiveness of free-flowing solutions. However, sometimes hard focus is exactly what’s needed. This could be crunch time for an unproven idea – make it work, or let it go.

America, Pluto, Ceres, Chiron, and Two Eclipses

Pluto, Ceres, Chiron, America, and the 2017 Solar Eclipses in Pisces and Leo

by Jude Cowell

Since the early days of Stars Over Washington (2005) my attention has sometimes been drawn to a certain trio: power planet of domination, Pluto (27Cap Rx), security-minded nurturer Ceres, and wounder/wounded healer, mentor, and blind spot, Chiron (20Aries) in America’s July 4, 1776 natal horoscope. As

NATO and the Stationary Jupiter of Mr Trump

Trump Wants NATO Countries to Pay Up

by Jude Cowell

For a man who is known for not paying up, don’t you marvel when you hear Mr. Trump admonish NATO countries to pay up?

Well, here’s another question: is the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, aka, NATO, too gray around the muzzle? Or is its multiple dissing by Mr. Trump meant to undermine the organization’s popularity (what little is left –

Mar 4, 2017: Venus Stations Rx in Aries–leaves Shadow in May

March 4, 2017 at 4:08:51 am est (Washington DC) is when transit Venus stands still @13Ari08 and, from our vantage point on planet Earth, seems to begin backward motion. Stationary planets "contain *suspended power" so let’s consider what this means for the planet of diplomacy (and war, as ruler of Libra),

Twin Flame or Hell Fire?

This site isn’t called Darkstar for nothing, for I have a fascination for Pluto and Dark Goddesses. The lord of the underworld is square my AC/DC relationship axis so how could I not? For some time I have noticed the Persephone Myth theme coming up in synastry readings. Was I attracting clients who had a weak spot […]
