September Horoscopes

With the wettest September Full Moon since 2015 coming up on the 6th, Mars and Mercury tangoing on the lip of an abyss, and Uranus and Jupiter in a final face-off across the divorce angle, September looks tempestuous. But where there is disruption, there is potential…. To read your horoscope, or subscribe, click here.

August 31st, 2017: Find The Flame

John William Godward

  • Mercury Rx enters Leo
  • Saturn in Sagittarius square Vesta in Virgo: 21 deg
  • Saturn in Sagittarius inconjunct Ceres in Cancer: 21 deg
  • Vesta in Virgo sextile Ceres in Cancer: 21 deg

Mercury retrograde reactivates issues from July 24th-25th, 2017 (when it was last exiting Leo). It’s time to revisit the fire at the heart of your idea. Does it still bring you joy? It may also be time to revise a creation, or your approach to a new romance.

Saturn’s hard aspects to Vesta and Ceres suggest pressure around an area of focused nurturing. Family responsibilities or legal issues may create resentment, as you’re pushed to care for someone or take on more than you want to.

The easy sextile between Vesta and Ceres is your solution. Despite the pressure, there’s an opportunity to harmonize nurturing with devotion. Saturn’s responsibilities cannot be shrugged off, and nurturing resentment only makes them feel heavier. If you have to do it, pour all your energy into it and make it sing. Find the flame at the core of the responsibility. This could be what Mercury Rx’s return to Leo is about.

Full Moon in Pisces: Beautiful Dream

John William Godward

The September 6th Full Moon (13 degrees Pisces) conjoins Neptune Rx (12 degrees). There’s potential for a dream or deception to be illuminated, depending on what’s led up to this result.

Moon/Neptune can be a lovely, expansive culmination that keeps on growing. Neptune’s association with the ultimate means this could be THE result you’ve been waiting for. Endless creativity or romance. Unconditional compassion and healing. The results could ripple outwards and impact the masses – great for reaching as wide an audience as possible.

Moon/Neptune can also be a delusional, sulking mess. What you end up with could disappoint, as the Virgo polarity punctures Pisces’ bubble with hard facts. Or maybe you just slide into the victim zone.

I’ve described two exaggerated scenarios. The reality will probably lie somewhere in between, esecpailly since this Moon makes a confusing inconjunct to Venus in Leo (13 degrees). There will be a rather exalted desire – a glittery and beautiful person/goal that you’re coveting. What you get may not be what you were hoping for, as the golden shell is peeled back to reveal something less attractive. But that doesn’t mean it will be a total fake. Reality rarely stacks up to the movie version, but there could be something solid beneath the shine.

Or, you really could end up with a total fake. Much depends on how far from reality you’ve drifted. Remember that Neptune is never just about you or your desires. You’re more likely to be disappointed if you’ve been grasping for something subjective and personal. Neptune is transpersonal-look beyond what you want.

No matter what happens, this Moon will be slippery and ultra-sensitive. No boundaries means it’s high tide for psychic or creative work. If you’ve been wanting to dissolve limits, this is your Moon. If you need a time out to rest, drift, heal…this is your Moon. But if you’re emotionally vulnerable, prone to addictions or confidence-sucking attractions, stay grounded and stick with what you know is healthy. Even if that’s a tad boring. It will be too easy to lose it all, as Neptune dissolves your self-control along with those boundaries.

Be smart about this one. You know what works for you, and what doesn’t.
