Venus’ Transit of Sagittarius

Venus enters Sagittarius on November 1st at 4:24PM EDT. Relationships, finances and values call for an open-minded approach to the future. You’re turning towards the horizon: what’s next?

This transit is about exploring opportunities. If it’s different, exotic or hopeful and you think this could be something you want, it’s Venus in Sag. This energy is excellent for broadening your perspective on love and self-esteem (you are worth more and you can attract more). It can also indicate matters of justice, wisdom or religion applied to Venus themes: what’s true, what’s legal and where can you put your faith.

Keeping in mind that Mercury stationed RX in Scorpio on October 31st, there’s a contrast between internal reviews and investigations (the past) versus external expansion and attraction of what you want (the future). When you combine the two, you peer into the background of a situation while expanding its potential.

Sagittarius is the sign of truth and knowledge, and of course Mercury backing through Scorpio will take you on an intense, intellectual journey. There’s an opportunity to gain tremendous understanding about a Venus issue. Maybe you uncover secrets that give you fresh perspective and truth about your love-life. Maybe you do some research about shared finances and uncover valuable resources that you can expand on. Maybe you have the taboo conversation that teaches you more about what you want, leading to increased freedom.

This is a time of truths that are uncomfortable (Scorpio) but expansive (Sag).

Here are the aspects Venus will make (Venus will enter Capricorn on November 25th).

November 2019 Astrology Forecast

We begin the month with Mercury retrograde, having started its backtrack on Hallowe’en in scary Scorpio. During this Mercury retrograde period, it’s necessary for us to dig deep into our fears and shadows and explore issues with intimacy, sharing and shared resources, endings and change in our relationships with others. This is a transit that […]

The astrology of religion and altruism: a Jupiter/Neptune discussion

An interesting study at the University of Chicago recently found that a religious upbringing was associated with a reduced level of altruism. A team of developmental psychologists led by Prof. Jean Decety examined the perceptions and behavior of children in six countries. The study assessed the children’s tendency to share—a measure of their altruism—and their inclination to judge […]

  • Mercury stations retrograde in Scorpio (27°)

Mercury RX signals a time of deep review, uncomfortable questions and delving into secrets/sensitive issues from the past. The pace of communication may slow to a halt, but it’s not really stopping-you’re going deeper rather than going forward. You’re drilling down in order to access a core truth. You’re redoing something and in the process you could uncover significant value.

There may be questions about sex, death, transformation and what you don’t have control over. Each question takes you deeper into the shadows, and that’s where the knowledge is.

This is about listening to the voice beneath the words. It could be your intuition, it could be taboo but brutally honest information, it could be a profound commitment. Mercury in Scorpio is never superficial and whatever is communicated is an all-or-nothing proposition: yes or no, fascinated or not interested. This retrograde can see you looking more closely at an extreme verbal commitment; will it stand up to this review?

Too, this transit supports targeted research into something that’s been stubbornly obscured. If you can’t find it, don’t give up just yet-go back and look more closely.
