October 1st, 2016: Mercury in Virgo Opposite Chiron Rx, Venus in Scorpio Trine Neptune Rx

A day for compassionate release.

Mercury in Virgo opposes Chiron Rx in Pisces, at 22 degrees. Looking too closely at the flaw, or for the flaw, won’t help. Sometimes it’s better to release what’s broken, rather than pinning it down with an observation. Staying silent and listening with compassionate empathy will be more helpful than offering solutions.

Venus in Scorpio trines Neptune Rx in Pisces, at 9 degrees. Love is expressed through complete acceptance of the darkness. Embrace what makes you most uncomfortable and allow yourself to relax into the shadows. There are no limits here, and this is where you discover the jealousy, lack of control or “shameful” secrets, aren’t as bad as you thought. And maybe that relationship fear simply dissolves. This aspect is more about compassion than passion, but it can still be quite intense.

October Monthly Horoscopes

The October Horoscopes are here and ready for your perusal. In pictures, this month we’re celebrating Libra in a big way: love, togetherness, laughter and old-fashioned glamour. Jupiter, the bringer of joy and jollity, embarks on his magnificent tour of this sign of relationship with a fresh New Moon today. All three! lunations this month look exciting, stimulating and full of potential. Meanwhile, Mars is making some feisty contacts. Don’t forget to read both your Rising sign and your Sun sign. Publishing these a little early to catch the New Moon! To read them, click here.

Darby Costello in Oxford

I just wanted to remind you that a doyenne of psychological astrology, the wonderful Darby Costello, is coming here to Oxford in November. She’ll be giving a one-day workshop on the Progressed Moon as a guest of The Oxford Astrology Group. This workshop is suitable, I think, for anyone working with astrology on any level — whether that’s investigating your own chart or working with clients. Powered by Eventbrite

Mars in Capricorn trines Ceres Rx in Taurus, at 2 degrees. Disciplined actions produce nourishing results in the areas of growth, abundance, stability or mothering. Focused energy and hard work can literally or metaphorically feed someone. Excellent for addressing the integration of diet and exercise.

Mercury in Virgo makes an inconjunct to Pallas Rx in Aquarius, at 19 degrees. A detail or improvement may be challenged by odd ideas that you can’t quantify. Attempts to make the rebellious pattern fit conventional logic will fail, but conventional logic is in need of a shake up. Consider what’s bizarre/revolutionary (especially if it’s something you’re reviewing) and find a way to translate it into practical knowledge, without sacrificing its uniqueness.
