There’s a powerful Full Moon in Capricorn coming up (July 8th 9:06 PM PDT/July 9th 12:06 AM EDT). At 17 degrees, it conjoins Pluto Rx (18 degrees) and squares Jupiter in Libra (14 degrees).
The results of a Full Moon mean full exposure. With Pluto, we can expect subterranean issues of power, compulsion, corruption or fear to be illuminated. Rules, tradition, authority, commitment and judgement (Capricorn themes) will be emphasized. Jupiter exaggerates, and the hard square can trigger a crisis of craving – an obsession with having it all (or leaving it all behind). Pluto is about absolutes – all the power, all the control or the absolute ending. We also have Mars widely conjunct the Cancer Sun (at 22 degrees) so there will be some anger, ambition or passion driving events.
Everything will feel intensely personal, since moody Cancer opposes this Moon. Feelings will be bruised, protectiveness will be triggered, needs will be ravenous.
As intimidating as this sounds, it’s just business as usual with Pluto. You might as well take an unblinking look at what this Full Moon will reveal. The more you try to avoid it, the more relentless the exposure will be. And this Moon could deliver something favourable. A Jupiter/Pluto mix can bring success, as power is amplified. There could be a big win. But, if there’s been a misuse of power, a big loss is likely.
You’ll be reaping during this Moon – the ending’s already written. But, it’s never too late to respond with intelligence and restraint. No matter what’s lost or gained, you want to avoid the temptation to strike out/manipulate. If you gain power, use it wisely. Fortify your structure with maturity (Capricorn). If you lose power, consider it a necessary death. Pluto purges what’s rotting underneath.
