This new week begins with a fearless Leo Moon; which encourages a ferocious roar for leadership and to take back control of what is not only personal, but also right. These fiery vibrations are excellent for self-expression and creativity, as well as calling out the bull-shite, as we nurture where we’re hungry in areas of […]

Chiron’s Transit of Aries: The Wounded Warrior

Australian National Maritime Museum: William J Hall Collection
Fresh Wound, Fresh Wisdom
Chiron (Wounded Healer) enters Aries (the warrior and pioneer) on April 17th, 4:09 AM EDT. Chiron in Pisces was about acknowledging, then releasing, the pain. Chiron in Aries will be about confronting, then fighting to make progress, as a way of healing. Note that “healing” does not mean the Chiron wound magically vanishes. It never goes away. But you can learn to live with it, and by doing this, you gain compassion for yourself and others.
There are many possibilities with this transit. You may have to fight, even though it hurts. You may have to be the first one out of the gate, even though you don’t think you’re strong enough or fast enough. You may have to confront your lack of courage, lack of motivation, lack of initiative. This will be a pushy transit – you’ll be pushed to do what feels uncomfortable. You could be pushed to fight for yourself or others, because of a vulnerability that you feel most keenly.
Chiron also marks what’s unique. Once the wound has been confronted, there is tremendous wisdom that is different from anything that’s currently being taught. So Chiron in Aries can also be the pioneering teacher – you have a chance to learn (or teach) something brand new. This is fresh wisdom, and it’s not quiet or polite. This transit could be about you stirring things up and getting lots of flak – being the outsider and scapegoat. Your challenge will be to stick to your guns and insist on what your gut is telling you. Some will attempt to block you, but others will follow your lead, or fight alongside you.
Chiron Return
If your natal Chiron is in Aries, your Chiron Return will occur sometime between April 17th, 2018 and June 19th, 2026. Transiting Chiron will return to the sign and degree it was at when you were born. You’ll be confronted with a specific area of weakness or doubt that’s been with you all your life, and this could be triggered by a person or situation. It will involve the house your natal Chiron sits in. As you’re confronted and the wound is triggered, you’ll have to find the courage to stand up for: yourself (Chiron in the 1st House), your right to be heard (Chiron in the 3rd House), your right to be successful on your own terms (Chiron in the 10th House). Natal Chiron in Aries is about your ongoing fight to be. It’s primal, and so is the wound.

A Different Type of Courage
Chiron in Aries is a different brand of courage. It’s about fighting and moving forward when you feel weak and scared (in a safe manner, of course). It’s about declaring yourself when you all you want to do is curl up in a ball. It’s about fighting for others who can’t protect themselves. The Wounded Healer is also the Wounded Warrior, and fights with compassion. And let’s not forget that it takes courage to admit when you’re hurting.
Here are the exact dates, times (EST/EDT) and degrees for Chiron’s ingresses and retrogrades. Note that Chiron will dip back into Pisces on September 25th, 2018 and will re-enter Aries on February 18th, 2019. The return to Pisces will be a final shot of release/forgiveness for 29 to 27 degrees Pisces.

Hidden Damage Requires Intense Digging
Powerful vibrations from Sunday’s Aries New Moon will continue to pulsate into the start of our new week ahead. In knowing this, we may want to ponder: ‘what will I create with all of this fabulous, fiery energy’? As we experience a new hunger pain for something more that what we’ve been doing, new interests […]
Aries New Moon: The Taming
We start out as wild horses, all of us, and life is the process by which we’re tamed. Some of us are civilized by gentle masters who teach us restraint without breaking our spirits. Others were brutalized by cruel circumstances that taught us to trample everything in our paths. Most of us have encountered both types of master; some days we gallop, and some days we trample.

Aries New Moon: Is That Your Ego Talking?
This Aries Mercury retrograde period has had me engaging old habits, ones I thought I’d moved on from… but as the saying goes, “old habits die hard.” A project I’d taken on has several components that I’m not totally aligned with, and I found myself, on numerous occasions, trying to override my “me not likey” […]

Our week is influenced from the free-spirited vibrations of the Aquarian Moon on Monday April 9. Rather than rely on what we’ve been used to; we’re ready to disengage from the heavy weight of responsibilities, limitations and routine. As we release restrictions, we”’ be able to spread our wings; connecting with our spirit and others […]

Our week ahead is fueled up, beneath a passionate Scorpio Moon on Monday April 2. And as we become more familiar with the deep, intense hunger that continues to gnawing at us – the more encouraged we’ll feel to sacrifice what is necessary – to transform our strength, back into our own hands. March 22nd, 2018: Waxing Sextile and Mercury Rx

A Waxing Sextile between the Gemini Moon and Aries Sun (1 deg) suggests ideas are fuelled by initiative. This energy is quick, sparky and impulsive – new choices/information may come and go rapidly, so you’ll have to be on the ball. This energy encourages conscious awareness of your choices, and what you can do with them. It also encourages the awareness that it’s up to you to do something.
Note that Mercury (ruler of this Moon) is stationing Rx in Aries on this day. So put the Waxing Sextile’s energy in the context of Mercury Rx’s delays. Rather than trying to forge ahead, consider applying the sextile’s potential towards any questions, reviews or contacts from the past. Perhaps a hot new lead requires your intensified focus. Looking more closely, pausing or asking the pointed questions could unlock something special.
Aries Season: A New Type Of Courage

The Sun enters Aries on March 20th (12:15 PM EDT) and another Spring Equinox begins. The hours of daylight and darkness are equal, and after today the balance tips towards longer days. This is the celebration of light and new life.
Warrior-sign Aries is impulsive, passionate and raw. What’s expressed is not planned , it just comes out instinctively. Ruled by Mars, this is aggressive energy that increases initiative and impatience. Get moving, and work things out as you go.
Mercury Rx
The Spring Equinox is usually an ideal time to start something new or do some spring cleaning (on a physical or emotional level). And this year, a few hours before the Sun enters Aries, we have an intriguing Mercury/Venus conjunction in Aries. So this Equinox is marked by beautiful/desirable (Venus) information (Mercury). Could be a flirty intro or a hot business/lifestyle idea. There was a previous Mercury/Venus conjunction (along with Wounded Healer Chiron) in Pisces on March 4th, so there could be a connection – the March 4th conjunction may have featured a mix of pain and loving words, or a beautiful/compassionate picture of what might be. The themes were release and undefined magic.
Now, as Mercury and Venus unite again, the fantasy, release or healing has led to a happy (Venus) new potential that sounds (Mercury) tempting or uplifting. And, it’s powered by this major seasonal shift.
But. Mercury stations Rx on March 22nd, at the degree of its conjunction to Venus. Seems a bit unfair – you’re just out of the gate and already you have to backtrack, second-guess or deal with someone changing their tune. Well, life is rarely a straight shot. This fresh start is still valid, you’ll just have to slow down and examine the raw potential more closely – instinct tempered with thoughtfulness.
Chiron
A major part of this Aries season is Chiron’s ingress, on April 17th. In a previous post, I described this transit as:
“...fighting for what’s essential, even if it hurts, and even if it puts you on the outside (you’ll actually be ahead of the curve – Aries is the sign of the pioneer). Chiron in Aries can stick out like the proverbial sore thumb, and you may be confronted with situations where you’re lacking courage and initiative. And that’s exactly what you’ll need to access. Note that Chiron does not deny you courage and initiative, he only urges you to deal with your insecurities about these things. You may have to step forward when you really don’t want to.”
The Sun will conjoin Uranus (exact on April 18th) suggesting this new approach to wounds and healing (or new type of wound) will involve a shock, or sudden break for freedom. So this equinox’s beginnings may demand that you find a new type of courage to confront your own vulnerabilities.
Here are the aspects the Aries Sun will make:
- Mar 24th: square Mars (3 deg Capricorn)
- Mar 25th: trine Ceres (4 deg Leo)
- Mar 29th: square Saturn (8 deg Capricorn)
- Mar 31st: Full Moon (10 deg Libra)
- Apr 1st: conjunct Mercury Rx (11 deg)
- Apr 2nd: trine the North Node (13 deg)
- Apr 6th: square Black Moon Lilith (16 deg Capricorn)
- Apr 11th: square Pluto (21 deg Capricorn)
- Apr 11th: inconjunct Jupiter Rx (21 deg Scorpio)
- Apr 15th: New Moon (26 deg Aries)
- Apr 18th: conjunct Uranus (28 deg)
- Apr 19th: Taurus ingress
Notable aspects:
- March 29th, square Saturn: limits can make you feel stuck as the impulse is blocked. But Saturn’s enforced focus can also help you channel that energy in a productive direction. Initiative (Aries) plus discipline (Saturn) equals eventual success.
- April 1st, conjunct Mercury: an inferior conjunction which is also the midpoint of Mercury’s retrograde. At this point, the delays/reviews should reveal an answer.
- April 11th, square Pluto: power and ego are driven by subconscious fears of losing that power. Aries can make everything seem like a fight, and when you add a tense square to Pluto, there’s a crisis between established power/the big guns versus the agitator/upstart. Whether you’re exercising power or being challenged by it, know that attempts to dominate will be about much more than what you see on the surface. Ask yourself what this struggle is really about.
