The week ahead…
Well, it was back to the office this week which, after 7 weeks off, was a shock to the system. After 7 weeks off, it was, however, also a relief to the bank account! I spent a bit of time…
In Demand Off the Cuff Readings Nearly Full
Hi Folks, I’m afraid that, due to popular demand from Gyre readers, the slots for Off the Cuff readings are nearly gone. Almost all of the slots were filled within a day. Off the Cuff readings, for those not familiar with them, are discounted spontaneous readings, $45 dollars for 45 minutes. I do these […]
Merry Christmas!
Wishing all of you a very Merry Christmas. The Full Moon in Cancer tomorrow means emotions will be wide and deep. This is the Full Moon of the mother, appropriately for the Christmas story. There is also a nice trine between Mercury, the planet of talk, and Jupiter the planet of plenty, so you can expect a lot of conversation. Since both are in earth signs, the chat may be practical and useful. Indeed it may be a chance to resolve some real-life family conundrums. Finally, Uranus, the planet of the unexpected, turns direct on Boxing Day. This is especially […]

December Is A Battleground
Last night, the UK Parliament voted in favour of bombing ISIS in Syria (10.16pm, December 2, London.). And in so doing they showed what democracy is about. There were passionate, well-argued speeches on both sides — but not by either leader. Both Cameron and Corbyn seemed lightweight and political in comparison to Alec Salmond, David Davis and Caroline Lucas against the airstrikes, Margaret Beckett and Dan Jarvis for the strikes, and above all shadow foreign secretary Hilary Benn, in favour of air-strikes and against his own leader’s position. Benn put the government to shame, and made a coherent, impassioned moral case for intervention. In […]

Uranus full of surprises – even astronomers say so!
Uranus IS the planet of surprise and sudden changes in paradigms, so it was fun to see this article posted on Facebook by my friend Shelley Ackerman: University of Arizona astronomer Erich Karkoschka … believes that Uranus’s southern hemisphere rotates in a way never before seen in gas giants. A gas planet’s thick atmosphere, filled with clouds, […]

December Horoscopes
The holiday season promises to be charged with emotions this year, with a Full Moon on Christmas Day, and the Moon and Jupiter embracing on New Year’s Eve. But before then, mid-December looks a bit sticky, as Mars, the god of war, clashes first with the Lord of Underworld, Pluto, and then with the Lord of the Sky, Uranus. This looks like war. However, Mars is in Libra — the sign of diplomacy. Remember for example that John Lennon and Mahtma Gandhi have this placement. Mars in Libra is a warrior for peace, and this December his hand is strengthened […]
