Ethics Scandal now but here’s CNN First Hour: June 1, 1980

July 6, 2017: now embroiled in an ethics-challenging blackmail scandal, Cable News Network (CNN) began its on-air life with a reasonable amount of credibility on June 1, 1980 5:00 pm edt NYC.
