Saturn Rx in Capricorn square Vesta in Aries (20 deg)
What are you focusing on? Do you feel blocked or fixated? Saturn and Vesta are both about focus, but Vesta is absolute devotion while Saturn is rules and restrictions. When the two form a crisis square, the restrictions (Saturn) on your freedom (Aries) can make the passionate urge to break away that much stronger. This is about being penned in and desperately gazing at what’s on the other side. Your sacred flame (Vesta) is being extinguished.
But is it? Saturn’s limits are always about drawing your attention to an essential matter. A new area of passion/impulse needs to be defined or needs more work. Venus/Pluto is the crisis of want versus power. The compulsive attraction or obsessive drive to get what you want NOW (no matter the cost) has more behind it. On the surface, it looks like pure Aries competition, passion or impulse. But it’s not pure- there are deeper motivations, an urge to maintain power and fear of losing that power.
This is the corner you turn as you confront the shadow behind the desire. You may be dealing with manipulation or you may be trying to “convince” someone to give you what you want/love. Pushing forward, especially when the other party is reluctant, is a red flag.
Jupiter’s trine to Venus can greatly amplify the Pluto-driven compulsion. While there may be a hot opportunity to earn/create/achieve, proceed very carefully – again, check those background motivations. On the other hand, Jupiter can help you get past the square to Pluto if you hook into the bigger perspective – elevate yourself above the fear of loss and look at the undiscovered country that lies ahead. Yesterday’s Saturn Rx underlines an ending as it meets up with the South Node. This is a powerful indicator of results from past rules, responsibilities or commitments.
A major ending or turning point is in play, but it will happen slowly. Saturn will conjoin the South Node two more times: on July 4th and September 28th. What’s crystalizing now is the first step in a process.
Some endings take more time because they have to be done correctly and thoroughly. You may need to attend to certain responsibilities before you say goodbye, or you may have to deal with rules/authority that you’ve been ignoring. Maturity is key – accept what’s happening, take care of what’s yours and say “No” to what’s no longer yours.
In some cases, you may be reconnecting with someone who has authority or with whom you feel responsible for. The energy will be heavy and unavoidable.
The door is slowly swinging shut and the clock is running down – the time has arrived to get it done and move on. Yes, you have a few months to work through it, but it needs to start now. This is not something you can rush.
