Flint, Michigan

The city of Flint, Michigan has been poisoned by bad governance. That’s not a metaphor: it is literally true. Flint, located between two of the greatest freshwater lakes on the planet, is an old industrial town, ravaged like its big neighbour Detroit by post-industrial decline. Because of this collapse, State Governor Rick Snyder (campaign slogan: “one tough nerd”) sent in the suits to fix Flint’s books. In order to save $5m or so, they decided the city should stop buying water from Detroit and start processing water from the astonishingly polluted Flint River. On April 25, 2014, the city made the switch […]

One Night In Cologne

In the early hours of 2016, more than a 100 women were sexually assaulted by roaming gangs of men in the streets of the German city of Cologne. At least one was raped. At least 1000 men are said to have been involved in the organised attacks. It took five days for the media to catch up with the story. Cologne is a 2000-year old town on the banks of the River Rhine. It was smashed to pieces in World War 2 and as it rose from the rubble again, lovingly rebuilt in its own image, it became symbolic of the new, peaceful Europe, a […]

Pluto opposes the US Sun and a mass shooting every day

One of the things I have used this blog for is to profile the psychology of criminals from an astrological viewpoint.  In the past there were one or two mass shootings in a year that warranted an attempt to try to understand what goes on in the human  mind to inspire such horrific behavior.  In 2015, […]

December Is A Battleground

Last night, the UK Parliament voted in favour of bombing ISIS in Syria (10.16pm, December 2, London.). And in so doing they showed what democracy is about. There were passionate, well-argued speeches on both sides  — but not by either leader. Both Cameron and Corbyn seemed lightweight and political in comparison to Alec Salmond, David Davis and Caroline Lucas against the airstrikes, Margaret Beckett and Dan Jarvis for the strikes, and above all shadow foreign secretary Hilary Benn, in favour of air-strikes and against his own leader’s position.  Benn put the government to shame, and made a coherent, impassioned moral case for intervention. In […]

Apollo Wins the Canadian Election

Canadians, it seems, have thrown out old and cold Saturn in favour of Apollo himself, the god of light. In other words, Justin Trudeau’s Liberal party trounced Stephen Harper’s Conservatives. Harper was older, colder, stiffer and meaner. Trudeau’s approach to politics? “Sunny ways, Canadians, sunny ways.” Justin Trudeau was born in the purple on Christmas Day, 1971. His father Pierre Trudeau was prime minister — and still riding the wave of “Trudeaumania” that swept him to power. In fact Trudeau Pere would go on to serve for more than a decade, so JT grew up in the power house. This legacy is something that JT will never […]

The astrology of Bernie Sanders

Bernie Sanders is an unusual choice for a presidential candidate.  He would be the oldest person to be elected president of the United States.  He is Jewish, and an avowed socialist.  He has no handlers and no PACs, and he is virtually ignored by mainstream media.  Yet he is gaining support in unexpected places – from […]

Dr. Don K Preston: False Prophets, Jonathan Cahn and the Shemitah – video

This video was helpfully posted on YouTube by Rob McConnell, host of The ‘X’ Zone Radio Show. The pastor asserts that, "The world will not end on September 15, 2015" which is great since the September 13, 2015 Solar Eclipse only contains themes of a high stress level and an overtaxing of strength’ according to Bernadette Brady in her book Predictive Astrology.

But soon we have the
