The August 15th Full Moon (22 deg Aquarius) opposes a Sun/Venus conjunction in Leo. A Full Moon is peak illumination, so this should be a bright light on what you want or love. It will be public, showy, romantic and a bit surprising due to Aquarius’ energy of disruption.

Note the contrast between Aquarius (objective) and Leo (subjective) with the Moon/Venus opposition: heightened wants and needs in opposition create tension that adds urgency. This won’t be a smooth influence – there will be some shocks (even if they’re sweet) and certainly some fireworks.

This one feels like getting what you want in unexpected ways, or having your values/relationship upended in a very obvious way. Full Moons are culminations, so this will be an ending or result- for the most part, it should deliver something very nice but if there is an abrupt ending, know that there will be a sense of freedom afterwards.

This Moon squares Vesta (focus, devotion) in Venus-ruled Taurus, so there will also be a bit of tension around your focus on security/habits/resources versus the dramatic results. What you want or receive will conflict with what you’re trying to preserve. This can either be a possessive influence (you obsessively focus on what you own) or a cautious influence (dramatic developments jar your fixation on what feels safe). Aquarius’ freedom will challenge Taurus’ fixed refusal to budge, so it will be interesting to see how you work with the Moon’s dramatic results. Know that things must change and if you want to get best out of this one, you may have to loosen your grip.

August 14th, 2019: Sun Conjunct Venus

  • Sun conjunct Venus (21 deg Leo)

  • Sun and Venus inconjunct Pluto Rx (21 deg Capricorn)

Sun/Venus illuminates what you want – a point of pride, romance, creativity or celebration. Everything is bold and out in the open, with added drama. Excellent for making your wants known, for celebrating yourself or starting a new situation on a bright note.

But the inconjunct to Pluto adds a thread of dark compulsion. You may want this more than you realize; watch for jealousy or possessiveness to sneak in. Pluto adds an uneasy sliver of insecurity as the bright thing is questioned. Is this for real? Is it/he/she all yours? Do they really love you?

While power dynamics must be acknowledged (ignore Pluto at your peril) don’t allow manipulation or insecurity to undermine what is an otherwise beautiful moment. Yes, there’s something in the shadows but it doesn’t have to stain what’s in the light. Be smart, stay aware and enjoy what this influence has to offer. Rise above coercion or jealousy – if one person wins it doesn’t mean another has to lose (Pluto can add an underhanded competitive streak).

  • Mercury in Leo trine Ceres in Sagittarius (2 deg)

Bold, dramatic or creative words encourage hope for the future. This is the third and final trine between Mercury in Leo in Ceres:

  • June 29th: Mercury trine Ceres Rx (1 deg)

  • July 18th: Mercury Rx trine Ceres (0 deg)

The conversation or plan may have been developing since June, and now you can confidently move ahead. Nurturing can take the form of learning, urging someone to explore what’s new or urging someone to have faith that they are special. There’s an exciting yet supportive vibe to this, as the warmth of new possibilities leads you forward. A messenger could take the form of a teacher or mentor who nurtures open self-expression and pride.
