  • Sun in Aquarius sextile Uranus in Aries: 21 degrees
  • Venus in Aries inconjunct the Virgo North Node: 3 degrees
  • Mercury in Aquarius inconjunct the Virgo North Node: 3 degrees
  • Mercury in Aquarius sextile Venus in Aries: 5 degrees

Uranus rules Aquarius, so there’s extra resonance in this Sun/Uranus aspect (exact on February 9th). Freedom is pronounced, but the ease of the sextile suggests it should feel natural to do your own thing, even if that means you’ll be standing slightly apart from everyone else. One step in a different direction will be all it takes to energize you. This is the easy confidence of self-expression, and leads into the February 10th Full Moon eclipse in Leo.

On February 9th, Mercury makes a tense inconjunct to the Mercury-ruled North Node, bringing new information that must be taken into consideration. The path forward needs a slight adjustment. This aspect is part of a larger configuration (a Yod) that covers February 7th to February 10th. Venus in Aries made an inconjunct to the North Node on February 7th, and will sextile Mercury on February 10th. Mercury/Venus is good news, or flirtatious/inspiring words, delivered with a bit of sass. Something sounds risky and intriguing. The inconjuncts mean the North Node is the focal point – find a way to integrate new intel into an existing plan or improvement. You still have to be practical, but practical could use a stimulant. Fresh info means more effective upgrades.

Venus’ Transit of Aries and Venus Rx

Venus enters Aries on February 3rd. The planet of relationships, money, self-esteem and values is in her opposite sign here. Technically, her detriment. Venus’ focus on relationships doesn’t sit easily in this “me first” sign. However, self-esteem and initiative can soar, if you’re ready to put yourself first.

The desire for something new is pronounced. This is the perfect time to view yourself in a bold, new light -personal image, creative projects or social contacts (for business or pleasure) can benefit from a bit of impulse and confidence. New attractions can be hot and fast-moving, but there’s no guarantee they’ll last.

The initial draw towards something/someone can be all-consuming, which is great for starting things. The courage to go after what you want will increase, because Venus in Aries loves a challenge. If something’s not quite available, it becomes ultra-desirable. Competition is sexy. This will be enhanced by Mars in Aries.

Mars and Venus will be activating the same section of your chart until March 9th. The two won’t meet up, but there will be a combo of action and attraction that’s quite effective.

Will you get what you want, and will it last? Some of it will. But some of what occurs will only grab your attention and remind you that you’re still alive. After the catalyst pushes you out of a rut, the attraction/situation will burn out. Even if this happens, you’ll still be in a brand new place, ready to keep moving forward.

Venus will square Juno in Capricorn on February 3rd – her transit will be immediately marked by the tension between new relationship impulses versus existing rules and commitments.

Venus Rx

This transit will feature Venus retrograde in Aries and Pisces. New attractions/results will be put on hold. You’ll be reviewing the excitement, to see if it’s more than just a hot flash. Is there enough fuel for the fire to last? Newly expressed values and confidence will be tested. Are you courageous enough to keep running with what you’ve started? Are you strong enough to keep putting yourself first? Venus Rx can also reconnect you to a love interest from the past.

As Venus Rx backs into Pisces, the new impulse will be further tested. Before it can continue, something will need to be released. It’s notable that she’ll make two squares to Saturn in Sag. This will take you back to the Venus/Saturn square (and Aquarius New Moon) of January 27th. The limits you encountered then will be repeated, as a final test. A demand of proof that the new developments are real. This test will involve your courage, independence and strength of will. Your commitment to something new may be tested. Or, an existing commitment in the face of something new (and more exciting) may be tested. Aries can be immature, and that won’t cut it under a Venus/Saturn square. There’s a difference between confidence and bratty self-entitlement.

Once Venus stations direct and reenters Aries, you’ll know if the situation is a keeper. You’ll know if you can sustain what you started.

Here are the aspects Venus in Aries/Pisces will make:

January 20th, 2017: Easy Integration

  • Mercury in Capricorn sextile Pallas in Pisces: 6 degrees
  • Pluto in Capricorn sextile Venus in Pisces: 17 degrees
  • Vesta Rx in Cancer trine Black Moon Lilith in Scorpio

Mercury/Pallas integrates structured ideas with intuition and magical patterns. Imagination is given shape and form. Excellent for getting the vague idea down on paper. Pluto/Venus is a manifestation aspect – structured power is gently applied to a beautiful ideal. A subtle push is all you’ll need to achieve something desired, as long as you’re aware of the existing potential.

Vesta’s focus is applied to Lilith’s shadow. This can suggest devotion to uncovering an uncomfortable secret, and the harmony of the trine indicates a smooth release. What’s revealed will be potent (due to extreme focus) and there will be no hesitation. Vesta’s purity (the sacred) harmonizes with Black Moon Lilith’s raw energy (the profane). The sacred mother (Cancer) is combined with the sexual woman (Scorpio). To put it another way, what’s taboo needs nurturing and empathy so it doesn’t turn into a destructive secret.

Overall, today is about easy integration, and a sense of wholeness.

Venus in Pisces: Dirty Sweet

Those of you following this Venus in… series will know already that Venus is not entirely about how you look. For that we look at the Ascendant and planets aspecting it. Venus though can tell us what makes you attractive, or even what makes you beautiful. So it’s pretty interesting that the first three names that came up on my database when I typed in Venus in Pisces were: Michelle Obama, Jesus Christ and Martin Luther King. Presumably we can discount Jesus, since last I knew there was some controversy over his exact birthdate, so the next one down is Kurt […]

January 7th, 2017: Fruition and Sacrifice

  • Sun conjunct Pluto: 17 degrees Capricorn
  • Venus conjunct South Node: 4 degrees Pisces
  • Chiron in Pisces square Juno in Sagittarius: 21 degrees

Sun/Pluto illuminates an essential change to the structure, or an issue of absolute power supported by the structure. If it’s stagnant or outdated, it will crumble. If the time has come to realize full potential, authority and manifestation will be unquestionable. Combined with today’s Venus/South Node conjunction, this could suggest a relationship (business or personal) that has reached a turning point.

Pluto’s association with death and the South Node’s ties to the past could indicate an ending. Or, the moment could be ripe with karmic potential, as what’s been developing comes to fruition. Venus over the Pisces South Node dissolves the past and expands the future. Whether you’re letting go or welcoming something new, a sacrifice may be part of the deal. Venus in Pisces is transpersonal, so it can never be just about you – you may have to give up to get what you want.

Chiron/Juno suggests a painful moment involving commitment and freedom. One partner’s ideals (and desire to explore) may hurt the other. Or, a partnership ideal may disappoint, with resulting bruises. This hints at the sacrifice involved with Venus/South Node.
