Patterns

To understand astrology is to see patterns: geometry across space, cycles through time, patterns of behaviour or events. At the time of writing, a virus spreads across China, the president of the United States breaks that country’s constitution, locusts ravage East Africa, giant fires roar across Australia, the European Union loses a key member… There […]

On the “Other”: Lilith, Harvey Weinstein and the Fate of Nations

Why are there so many Liliths to choose from astrologically? I asked myself this question recently, and wondered if the answer might not lie in the archetype herself. Just to be clear. There are: True Lilith, Mean Lilith… and the asteroid Lilith… and furthermore, in some software, a glyph that looks just like Lilith’s but […]

The astrology of Andrew Yang, Democratic candidate for president

http://gty.im/1149664436 Andrew Yang is an unusual candidate in that he has no real political experience.  His career path has taken him from corporate attorney, to philanthropic fundraiser, to party organizer, to healthcare and then landed him in a small test preparation company that was later acquired by Kaplan, a giant in the field.  This […]

The astrology of Tulsi Gabbard

http://gty.im/1154840952   This is the latest in a series of profiles of Democratic presidential candidates.  For the others, see the list at the bottom of this article. In this series I am making every attempt to be objective, but sometimes my bias may seep through.  Tulsi Gabbard is a curious candidate and hard to […]

The astrology of Marianne Williamson

http://gty.im/1165922715 My original plan was to continue profiling the candidates (see other posts in the series here) in their polling order, and I frankly didn’t think Marianne Williamson would stay in the race as long as she has.  But she continues to raise money and attract voters to her events and she has said […]

Bernie Sanders: Attack on the heart

Bernie Sanders heart attack

http://gty.im/1170854524 Bernie Sanders was hospitalized this week for a procedure to place stents in the heart.  Originally it was said that this was a procedure to open a blocked artery, but it was later revealed that he did actually have a heart attack.  He apparently has no history of heart disease. As I wrote […]

Donald J. Trump and the progressed New Moon

http://gty.im/1167616480 Political posts, especially on the subject of the current president, can generate a lot of controversy.  As always I have tried to be as neutral as possible and focus on the astrology.  Please do the same in the comments. Donald Trump is going through a tough time right now.  Impeachment inquiry, staff changes […]

Astrology of Now: The Law

Well, yesterday was quite the day for the law and democracy on both sides of the Atlantic. In London, the Supreme Court found that the government, and therefore Prime Minister Boris Johnson had broken the law when it suspended parliament. In fact, Judge Hale said that legally the “prorogation” did not happen. So parliament is back in business today. In the US, top democrat Nancy Pelosi has finally started an impeachment enquiry against Trump. “No one is above the law,”  she said. Both these legal decisions will have long-term effects on the law in both countries. The British Supreme Court […]

The astrology of Pete Buggieg

http://gty.im/1165961958 Next in the list of profiles for the Road to 2020 series is Mayor Pete.  There’s something about Mayor Pete for everyone to relate to.  He’s smart (Harvard magna cum laude grad and Rhodes scholar), is conversant in seven languages, he’s a devout Christian, he’s a dedicated family man (married to his male […]

Astrology of Now: Battle of the Geminis

Like much of the country, I was glued to the TV last night as the British Parliament took back control. It was theatrical. The cabal of profiteers sitting on the front bench, who currently control the Conservative party and government, visibly deflated and began to fray. The odious Rees Mogg, (“leader of the house” no less) actually slid down the front bench, looking like a peevish tween who’s been ticked off by nanny. Prime Minister Johnson blustered, fumed and rumpled like a cartoon baddie. You could almost see the steam coming out of his ears and the thought bubble with […]
