  • Mercury in Cancer conjunct Mars (21 deg)

  • Saturn Rx in Capricorn sextile Neptune in Pisces (18 deg)

Mercury/Mars is the unification of words and actions, driven by emotions. This can be a powerful aspect if used wisely – tune into what feels most authentic/urgent and make sure your words are aligned with what you do.

Do what you think, think what you do. Walk the talk, especially if passion/anger is involved.

The second Saturn/Neptune sextile underscores the above with a subtle but important energy. Form (Saturn) harmonizes with formlessness (Neptune) to make things real. But any combo of Saturn and Neptune also suggests sacrifice, so you may have to give something up in order to manifest the dream.

Refer back to Jan 31st for the first Saturn/Neptune sextile for a hint about what this issue might be. It won’t jump up and grab you, but it will be a persistent, background energy.

June 16th, 2019: Mercury Opposite Saturn and the Jupiter/Neptune Square

  • Jupiter Rx in Sagittarius square Neptune in Pisces (18 deg)

  • Mercury in Cancer inconjunct Jupiter Rx in Sagittarius (18 deg)

  • Mercury in Cancer opposite Saturn Rx in Capricorn (18 deg)

  • Mercury in Cancer trine Neptune in Pisces (18 deg)

The second Jupiter/Neptune square once again confronts you with a crisis between ideals versus dreams. These are both expansive influences, and when they form a tense aspect what’s growing is often too much and not real.

The first square occured on January 13th, but now Jupiter is Rx so you’re revisiting that exaggerated promise – looking closely at the truth behind the beautiful hope. Jupiter Rx can reveal things as you’re pushed to adjust perspective and concentrate your vision in one area.

During the first square, Mercury was in Capricorn and conjoined Saturn (at 12 deg). Now, Mercury is in Cancer and forming an exact opposition to Saturn. So there is a congruent theme of real (Saturn) words (Mercury). What began during the Mercury/Saturn conjunction has reached a conclusion during the second Jupiter/Neptune square. So you’re not totally lost on the sea of illusion. You have this reality-check message; an official document, conversation or understanding. You can choose to ignore it of course and get swept up in the euphoria of the dream (or escape) but you have to admit there’s a current of hard facts running alongside. Information that you’d be wise to attend to.

Now, Mercury does make an inconjunct to Jupiter Rx, so there will be a temptation to grab at what sounds exciting/hopeful without checking the facts. And if the opposition to Saturn is presenting you with a big, fat “No” or severe limits on your speech, it may be really tempting. But it’s not to your benefit to ignore the Saturn opposition- it’s a crucial conclusion that is enforcing your focus. Mercury’s trine to Neptune offers some breathing room if you can exhale, accept the limits as they are and then focus on what you say/write despite the limits.

June 14th saw Mars in Cancer making the same aspects to Saturn, Neptune and Jupiter. What you did then with actions (accept the limits and then move in the direction that felt natural) you’re doing now with words/thoughts. You’re honouring the rules (or ending) while letting your thoughts flow in an alternative direction (the same direction Mars took you). Maybe you’re forgiving or deciding to stop banging your head against that wall.

And all this ties into the truth behind the promise.

Along the Cancer/Capricorn axis we’re dealing with parental dynamics, maturity/helplessness and control versus emotions.

  • Mercury in Cancer conjunct the North Node (17 deg)

Keep your eyes open for a key message or messenger. An emotional statement, empathetic observation or information that hits you in the gut are meant to show you the way forward. You may encounter someone who says something that resonates with you personally, whether or not it was for your ears. Or, it could be time to talk openly about family, mother/child issues or your primary needs.

Keeping in mind that Mercury is also opposing the Capricorn South Node, today’s aspect could be somewhat uncomfortable as what you say/hear pushes you away from the rules/traditions of the past and urges you to look at what’s coming up.
