February 18th, 2019: Today’s Reality (Chiron Enters Aries)

  • Venus conjunct Saturn in Capricorn (16 deg)

  • Chiron enters Aries (4:07 am EST)

  • Pallas stations Rx in Libra (29 deg)

Venus/Saturn

Continuing yesterday’s activation of the Saturn/Neptune sextile, Venus conjunct Saturn defines what you have and what you can’t have. Here is the reality of a commitment, restriction or responsibility involving relationships, finances, self-esteem or values. Saturn makes it real and (in combination with Neptune) can also define what you have to give up in order to get what you want. Or, perhaps what you have to give up, period.

Venus/Saturn is the dividing line – the new beginning that separates past from present. This is permanent and official. Make it so.

Chiron into Aries

Chiron returns to Aries for the long haul (it won’t be completely done with this sign until April 2027). For details and dates on this transit, check this post.

Chiron’s return will reactivate issues from its first Aries ingress (April 17th, 2018) but now you’ll be pressing forward with the battle. There’s no turning back. Are you ready to fight with vulnerability as your banner? It’s interesting that the Venus/Saturn conjunction happens on this same day because it really does emphasize that hard line between past and present.

But we also have the Sun’s Pisces ingress today, so there’s a reminder that compassion and forgiveness are important. Be gentle with yourself, even as you step into the fray.

Pallas Rx

Pallas reaches the final degree of Venus-ruled Libra, then she stations Rx. The social or relationship strategy that you thought was complete needs a review. You’ll have to rethink how you relate to others, and the connection to Venus/Saturn is important – there’s a clear reality or rule that means you have to reassess your approach.

Pallas will station direct on May 30th (10 deg Libra) and will exit Libra for Scorpio on August 26th.

February 17th, 2019: Awkward Feelings

  • Waxing Inconjunct between the Cancer Moon and Aquarius Sun (28 deg)

  • Venus in Capricorn sextile Neptune in Pisces (15 deg)

The Waxing Inconjunct presents a difficult adjustment between objective Aquarius and subjective Cancer. Emotions will interfere with detachment, disrupting a cool vibe. But the messy, uncomfortable mood should not be ignored – pay attention to where you’re vulnerable or insecure. These awkward feelings need to be attended to (before you can move forward). If you can still maintain a bit of objectivity, even better.

Venus activates the first part of the Saturn/Neptune sextile. She will conjoin Saturn tomorrow, but today is a gentle reminder that there’s more to what you want than rules, status or work. Remembering that Saturn/Neptune is about making a small sacrifice in order to manifest (Saturn) a dream (Neptune) today’s aspect can gently widen your awareness. Tune into the compassionate or spiritual undertones in a material issue or formal commitment.

  • Moon in Taurus trine Venus in Capricorn (9 deg)

The Venus-ruled Taurus Moon makes one, major aspect. The trine to Venus would normally be quite indulgent, but Capricorn adds an edge of practicality and discipline. So the vibe is about solid acquisition -real proof of love, security and values.

This emphasized Venus energy is good for focusing on what has the most value. What’s worthiest and what makes you feel most secure? This is not romantic or wishful: look at the reality of what you love, want and have.

February 6th, 2019: Discordant Nurturing

  • Moon in Pisces conjunct Vesta (2 deg)

  • Moon in Pisces sextile Venus in Capricorn (2 deg)

  • Moon in Pisces square Ceres in Sagittarius (3 deg)

The Moon emphasizes yesterday’s Venus/Vesta sextile:

“Venus in Capricorn is about strict and ambitious definitions for relationships, money or personal values. Vesta in Pisces focuses on transcendent or compassionate issues. When they harmonize, Vesta’s higher devotion loosens some of Venus’ rules – there can be more to what you want as judgements are released. “

Moon/Vesta suggests emotional devotion or focus on a specific issue that transcends reality. There’s a yearning for something higher. Venus adds a touch of practicality while keeping the energy calm and beautifully contained.

But the Moon/Ceres square suggests the above may be disrupted by discordant expressions of nurturing. Vague or spiritual needs are out of step with the belief about how care “should” be implemented. Although well-intentioned, Sag’s fiery enthusiasm can be too much for gentle Pisces. Nurturing may be too pushy.

Sag is about the belief of what’s true and right while Pisces simply “is.” If you’re attempting to nurture, consider what’s needed versus what you believe is best. If you’re the recipient of some pushy efforts, know that it’s ok to keep those boundaries in place.

When they harmonize, Vesta’s higher devotion loosens some of Venus’ rules – there can be more to what you want as judgements are released.

But the sextile is such a soft aspect that you won’t feel this unless you’re paying attention. Tune in to the whisper that suggests your love or values can be elevated. At the same time, consider how a difficult-to-grasp issue (perhaps involving an unattainable devotion) can be grounded by blending it with what you want in the earthly realm.

Vesta is about purity and Venus in Cap is quite disciplined, so the vibe is still a bit spartan, but it’s an interesting mix of material and spiritual.
