How to use summer’s final eclipse at the Leo New Moon

photo from Flickr.  On August 11 we will experience the last in a series of three summer eclipses at the Leo New Moon.  This is not a particularly powerful eclipse astronomically as it is a partial eclipse.  It’s also not as powerful an eclipse astrologically since the lunar nodes, the points in the sky which turn […]

July 29th, 2018: Detach and Release

  • Moon in Aquarius opposite Mercury Rx (23 deg Leo) at 5:23 AM EDT
  • Moon enters Pisces (7:27 PM EDT)

No action with the planets and asteroids today so we see what the Moon is doing.

Moon opposite Mercury Rx can indicate moody discussions with a conflict between emotions and intellect, detachment and words that demand attention. Thoughts/words about the past (Mercury Rx) may be pronounced, and the Leo energy insists they will grab your attention. If you’re aware of what’s happening, this opposition can help you step back and gain some valuable distance on a repetitive issue.

The opposition is the last aspect before the Moon goes Void of Course. From 5:24 AM to 7:27 PM, the Moon will be VOC, making no aspects. The energy is untethered – if you try to start something during this time, it usually goes nowhere (this doesn’t apply to something that you’ve already begun). If you can, it’s an excellent time to rest and stretch into that detachment. Feel yourself gaining some cool distance.

As the Moon enters Pisces, detachment shifts to transcendence and release. It’s easier to let go, especially since we are now on the waning or dark side of the July 27th eclipse. Allow yourself to exhale – you don’t have to be or do anything right now. Just accept that things are as they are, and sit with that.

lunar eclipse July 27

Deviant Art.  Mercury is in its shadow period now, moving at a snails space as it prepares to turn retrograde.  (Most people know by know that Mercury doesn’t actually travel backwards, or retrograde but because we observe the motion of the planets from Earth they sometimes appear to move backwards from our perspective which we call […]

We’ll have a greater need to travel across foreign borders, in order to explore what remains unfamiliar – where the grass appears to be so much greener. As imagination […]
