Each year when I write about the Capricorn New Moon I write a variation on the same theme – and mostly it’s to do with getting my goals in order. That’s partly because it’s that time of the year, but it’s also because I’m such an innate drifter at heart – hello, I’m uber-Pisces – …

Eclipses 2019
Eclipse season is almost upon us – making it the perfect time to have another look at eclipses, what they mean, how to interpret them, and get a heads-up of where they’ll be happening in 2019. Solar eclipses occur at a New Moon. During a solar eclipse, the Moon passes between the Sun and the Earth, …
All hail the Cancerian Full Moon at the Winter Solstice!

The astrological Solstice occurs when the Sun enters Capricorn (for my Southern Hemisphere friends this is actually the Summer Solstice). Solstices and Equinoxes are important energetic gateways having to do with the balance of light and darkness. At the Winter Solstice, the days are at their shortest and as humans we are pulled inwards into […]

December 14th, 2018: A Pisces Moon Day

Moon in Pisces sextile Saturn in Capricorn (9 deg)
Moon in Pisces conjunct Neptune (13 deg)
Moon in Pisces trine Ceres in Scorpio (14 deg)
Moon in Pisces conjunct Mars (18 deg)
The day begins on a sober note with a sextile between Saturn (rules, limits) and the Pisces Moon. This suggests buckling down and making a mild sacrifice or doing what needs to be done without expectation of reward. Moon/Neptune expands the energy of limitless giving or looking beyond what you know (and Moon/Ceres briefly re-activates yesterday’s unconditional Neptune/Ceres trine).
So this can be a good day to help/nurture or do something for yourself that involves restraint and spiritual exploration. There’s a sense of ascetic (Saturn) removal from indulgence which will allow you to focus on what’s pure or elevated. While Saturn in Capricorn is earthy, the Pisces influence indicates transcendence of material concerns.
The Moon/Mars conjunction can fire up an ideal, dream or spiritual/healing goal, ending the day on an energetic note. Mars in Pisces drifts outwards – you may find yourself reaching for something higher, or energizing a belief/sacrifice. You may not achieve what you originally planned, but consider alternate definitions of success.
Overall, this can be a day for accomplishment and it will probably involve spiritual, idealistic or healing matters.

Sagittarius New Moon December 7th: Begin a new adventure!

This New Moon in Sagittarius brings with it an opportunity to begin a new adventure. The New Moon is a fresh new start – the heart (Moon) unites with the conscious intent (Sun) to forge a new direction, and in Sagittarius the sky is the limit. Sagittarius governs travel, whether travel of the mind and […]

Sagittarius New Moon
The New Moon in Sagittarius is about hope, spontaneity, optimism, faith and adventure. Wherever it falls in your chart is where you need an injection of these things. For that reason, this is one of my favourite New Moons of the year. It’s the opportunists New Moon. It’s not so much glass half full or …
December 3rd, 2018: Authentic Needs

Moon in Libra square the South Node in Capricorn/North Node in Cancer (27 deg)
Moon in Libra inconjunct Chiron Rx in Pisces (27 deg)
Moon in Libra opposite Uranus Rx in Aries (29 deg)
Moon Void of Course at 1:15 PM EST
Moon enters Scorpio at 2:54 PM EST
Moon conjunct Venus (0 deg)
Today’s Moon retraces Venus’ steps from the last few days.
The square to the Nodes and inconjunct to Chiron recalls events from November 28th, as the echo of a pivotal relationship issue asks you to acknowledge what hurts while finding a place where you can feel balanced and safe. Note that the Moon rules the Cancer North Node, so this is primarily about what you need – what lies beyond the social facade or rules.
The Moon’s opposition to Uranus reminds us of the Venus/Uranus opposition, providing the clarifying jolt that pushes you away from what’s not needed (even if you’re still clinging to it). It will be impossible to pretend that everything is ok today if something is, in fact, unbalanced.
The Moon’s brief VOC allows you to catch your breath before it plunges into Scorpio and catches up with Venus.
In essence, today was a summary of events since November 28th – a reminder of what’s changed and where you’re at right now. Moon/Venus in Scorpio suggests moments of deep satisfaction and wholeness as wants merge with needs. It feels good to be at a place where you’re dealing with authentic feelings and you have nothing to hide.
Thanksgiving Gemini full moon makes everything possible
The Sun enters Sagittarius on the 22nd, ending the Scorpio season and beginning the festivities of the holiday season, and the Sagittarius season begins with a Full Moon on the 23rd at the very first degree of Gemini opposite the Sagittarius Sun. The Gemini/Sag polarity is all about collecting and assimilating information – this is […]
