June 15th, 2017: Saturn Retrograde Opposes the Gemini Sun

  • Sun opposite Saturn Rx in Sagittarius: 24 degrees

This is about more than limits; it’s the midpoint of Saturn’s Rx transit. There should be an enhanced understanding of why you’re being limited, or what you have to choose, or what responsibilities remain. If Saturn Rx has brought you delays, this aspect should bring you clarity (but not an end to the delays – yet).

Saturn will station direct on August 25th.

This opposition forms the spine of the Kite I discussed here. There’s opportunity in restriction – Saturn’s limits will provide the structure that allows you to focus the energy of the Grand Fire Trine (made of up Saturn, Uranus in Aries and the Leo North Node). What can you do with Fire? It gives you the courage to create. It says “You can do this.” It implies there’s more to come – something to look forward to. But sometimes you need to focus, first. Sometimes you need defined choices that force you to look in one direction. That’s where you pour all your energy and make use of the Fire potential.

  • Mars in Gemini opposes Saturn Rx in Sagittarius: 25 degrees

The pressure to act or choose increases because of restrictions. You’re blocked or denied by external rules, or someone’s authority. And yet, there’s something you have to do. There’s a responsibility – work to be done. As a culmination aspect, it can deliver endings, results of previous work, or results of what hasn’t been done.

The harder you push, the more resistance there is. Brute force and temper tantrums won’t work. You may be so angry, but are not allowed to express it. What to do? Suss out the path you need to take, and the choice you need to make. There can only be one (Saturn narrows your options, especially when he’s Rx). Do what you have to do. Be calm, be persistent.

Another possibility is swinging between full stop (Saturn) and scattered efforts (Mars in Gemini). Hopping wildly from here to there, then running into a wall and giving up. The best way to deal with any opposition is to find that balance point. Aim for a slow, steady release of energy. Focus, then take it one step at a time.

This opposition is the backbone of the Kite I discussed here. That’s a good thing, because nothing says “backbone” like Saturn. This is one of the strongest aspects in existence. You know what you’re up against – act accordingly. Your mature (Saturn) actions (Mars) are the release point of that Kite.

May 18th, 2017: Saturn/Uranus Trine

  • Saturn Rx in Sagittarius trine Uranus in Aries (26 degrees): evening of May 18th/morning of May 19th depending on time zone

Tonight or early tomorrow morning (depending on where you live) Saturn will perfect his trine to Uranus. Change (Uranus) is given form and focus (Saturn). New (Uranus) rules (Saturn) are implemented.

If you have any planets around 26 degrees of the Cardinal signs, Uranus is currently shaking you up with hard aspects. Saturn is the stabilizer, and the reassurance that you’re not crazy. There really is something you can do with that restless urge or desire for escape. You can turn this into something real, as long as you’re prepared to work (Saturn). And, you have to moderate that initial impulse to do something extreme or risky. Saturn wants you to calm down and look at the opportunity. What can you do with this? Something needs to change, that’s for sure. What’s a sensible approach?

However, note that a trine is about flow – natural progress. Don’t confuse “work” with “force.” If you’re trying to force something to happen, or the change feels wrong, forget it.

This is the second of three Saturn/Uranus trines:

  • Dec 24th, 2016: Saturn trine Uranus Rx (20 deg)
  • Nov 11th, 2017: Saturn trine Uranus Rx (25 deg)

It’s also part of a current Grand Fire Trine, including the transiting North Node in Leo

In general, Saturn/Uranus is about measured progress. It’s ideal for edging forward into new territory that makes you uneasy. You can go slow – no one’s rushing you.
