June 7th, 2019: Painful Words That Need To Be Said

  • Waxing Sextile between the Leo Moon and Gemini Sun (16 deg)

  • Mercury in Cancer sextile Uranus in Taurus (4 deg)

  • Mercury in Cancer square Chiron in Aries (5 deg)

Waxing Sextile

Here we have a gently sparkling energy that encourages you to take pride in your words or go public with your ideas. You can gain favourable attention by communicating, but you have to step into the spotlight and say “Listen to me.” This is not loud and dramatic – consider it as light and playful but worthy of notice.

Mercury

Mercury (ruler of Gemini) starts things off right with a sextile to Uranus – slightly daring/innovative words but nothing too crazy. The freedom to speak out in your comfort zone. But then the square to Chiron, which could make it difficult. You may shrink back from saying your piece because you feel vulnerable. Or, anything that’s said may feel so personal that it hurts, no matter how you put it out there.

Understand that there will be some painful conversations or thoughts today (most likely about past and family). You can’t avoid it, but you can use the energy of the Waning Sextile to forge ahead. Just say it/write it, and use the added nudge from Uranus to say what’s not quite “proper” or put a different twist on it- you have the freedom to articulate and Chiron’s wounds don’t do go away just because you avoid them.

Mercury is the ruler of today’s Gemini New Moon so this aspect is particularly relevant.

Vesta is the ultimate or sacred focus. In Aries, it’s focus on self, on something new/passionate. Gently supported by Mercury, here’s a hint that can help you decide which of the multiple choices holds the most promise.

This won’t be a super strong influence, but there will be a nudge in a certain direction- look at what’s most vital or courageous. It will probably be new and may have urgency. This is what you want to choose.

New Moon in Gemini

The June 3rd New Moon (12 deg Gemini) doesn’t make any major aspects. I use tight orbs so I’m not considering the wide square to Neptune in Pisces or the even wider opposition to Jupiter Rx.

So we have a new beginning with multiple layers that’s pretty much pure Gemini. There will be more than one option or path, and since this is just beginning, you may not be sure about which path to take, just yet. New Moons are dark- the issue is still forming and much is not visible.

Gemini is the sign of duality, and with a Sun/Moon conjunction we have the unification of two energies. So there be themes of male/female, father/mother, conscious/unconscious. This Moon does make a trine to Pallas (strategies) in Libra. While not a major aspect, it suggests support for social strategies and the harmonious unification of two sides. Good if you’re attempting to start a diplomatic conversation or relationship compromise, because there will be a heightened awareness of what everyone wants.

This Mercury-ruled sign is about the exchange of information and the gathering of new ideas, so communication will be huge. But again, what you learn or say will not be focused in one direction. You may be dealing with two sides of the story, or an understanding of someone’s dual nature.

Mercury enters Cancer (ruled by the Moon) on June 4th, so one of the first developments may be lunar themed – the energy of needs and moods will dominate as the discussion heads into emotional territory.
