The Nodes Enter Aquarius/Leo

The Nodes change signs today. South Node into Aquarius/North Node into Leo means there’s a special purpose for you to develop. Something for you to create or feel joy about. In some cases, you may be wrapping up an Aquarius issue. But, you might also be taking that issue and advancing it.  The Nodal Axis is a continuous path; you always move forward from the South Node, but sometimes you do this by taking South Node issues further, via the North Node.

In this week’s horoscopes, I wrote that the natal rulers of the transiting Nodes will give you more information about what you’re moving towards, and what you’re moving away from. There were some questions about this, so I’ll refer you to this post for a more detailed explanation. The post was written about the Nodes in Taurus/Scorpio, but the technique described can easily be applied to Aquarius/Leo.

What this means for you will depend on your chart. And, on what’s happening with your natal Sun (ruler of the North Node) and natal Uranus (ruler of the South Node). If your Sun/Uranus aspect each other, progress from transiting South Node to North Node will be intensified. Depending on the aspect, you may find it easy to move forward, or there may be a concentrated struggle that compels you to make changes.

If your Sun is in Aquarius, you’ll be encouraged to do you, a bit differently. There may be an opportunity to gain recognition for your quirks, independence or ideals. At the same time, you’ll have a chance to develop your ego. What do you take pride in? Where do you shine? What do you have complete confidence in? If the answers to these questions are “nothing” or “I don’t know”, this transit can open some wonderful new doors.

Here’s a list of keywords for Aquarius to Leo:

  • fringe to center
  • detached to passionate
  • alienated to proud/playful
  • ideal to creation
  • being shocking to receiving approval
  • traumatized to powerful

To sum this up, you’re creating something out of what you experienced on the edge. You’re bringing warmth and pride to what has previously been about rebellion, disruption or escape.

Mars’ Transit of Gemini: The Juggler

Fritz Beinke

Fritz Beinke

Mars enters Gemini on April 21s (6:31 AM EDT).  Choices and information are energized. Actions may become scattered, as multiple options get fired up. New layers will be uncovered, and things can become more complicated. Passions will fluctuate, as A, B (and possibly C) grab your attention. This transit is excellent for triggering fresh ideas. You can break out of a rut and try something new, just because. Gemini’s reasons are multitude – pick some!

Mars in Gemini will be in mutual reception with Mercury in Aries until May 16th, so the urge to speak out/argue impulsively will be pronounced. Mars will help Mercury Rx in Aries by adding new motivation to an old situation. There’s more life in that idea, conversation or contact. Watch for a surge of enthusiasm or anger that revives things. If it didn’t work before, you can say it differently this time.

Focus will be compromised and speed will increase. Situations can come and go in the blink of an eye, and much of what flashes by may be distracting. Something new and intriguing may not last, but it could be fun. And, it could lead to something important in the future. Stay open to what’s new, but don’t tighten your grip on anything just yet. If additional complications emerge, remain flexible; Mars in Gemini will ask that you juggle at least two possibilities.

Here are the aspects Mars in Gemini will make:

  • Apr 23rd: square the North Node in Virgo/South Node in Pisces (1 deg)
  • May 4th: opposite Black Moon Lilith in Sagittarius (8 deg)
  • May 11th: square Neptune in Pisces (13 deg)
  • May 12th: trine Jupiter Rx in Libra (14 deg)
  • May 14th: sextile Pallas in Aries (15 deg)
  • May 17th: inconjunct Juno Rx in Capricorn (18 deg)
  • May 19th: inconjunct Pluto Rx in Capricorn (19 deg)
  • May 29th: opposite Saturn Rx in Sagittarius (25 deg)
  • May 30th: sextile Uranus in Aries (26 deg)
  • May 31st: trine the South Node in Aquarius (27 deg)
  • Jun 2nd: square Chiron in Pisces (28 deg)
  • Jun 4th: Cancer ingress

Mercury Into Taurus And Mercury Retrograde

Thomas Eakins

Thomas Eakins

Mercury enters Taurus on March 31st. Information is grounded in the real world and concrete proof is the theme. Ideas must translate into something you can see and touch.

Taurus is concerned with self-sufficiency, values and resources. Straightforward concepts work best, because this sign is about the basics. What are the absolute essentials? How much money do you need to survive? Elaborate plans and good intentions won’t help. Mercury in Taurus manifests with simple, practical steps that bring results.

You may notice that the flow of information slows, due to Taurus’ Fixed nature. Ideas will become entrenched, or in some cases, shut down. Compromise and options will not be supported. This is a yes/no transit, but the answers won’t come quickly. Patience is necessary, as well as your certainty about where you stand and what you must have. If you don’t know these things, this transit can help you figure it out.

When Mercury stations Rx on April 9th, things will slow down even more. This is a ponderous pace for fast-moving Mercury: ideas, responses and results may grind to a complete stop. The reason (as with any Mercury Rx) will be to correct or review. Go back because you missed something. Have that discussion one more time. In Taurus, you’ll be drilling down into the absolute value of something. How much is ____ worth? Is ____ the real deal? You won’t be able to rush things, so you might as well use the pause to throughly turn the facts over in your mind.

Mercury Rx will revisit Aries on April 20th, which will be back-to-the-drawing-board time. Before you can extract something real from the information that’s in front of you, you’ll have to take another look at the initial spark. Mercury Rx will conjoin the Taurus Sun a few hours before it backs into Aries, so this should be a moment of clarity about what you need to revise. Once Mercury direct reenters Taurus, you can be certain that any surviving concepts will be keepers.

Here are the aspects Mercury in Taurus, and Mercury Rx, will make.

  • Apr 3rd: trine the Virgo North Node (2 deg)
  • Apr 9th: stations Rx (4 deg)
  • Apr 18th: trine the Virgo North Node (1 deg)
  • Apr 20th: conjunct the Sun (0 deg)
  • Apr 20th: reenters Aries
  • Apr 24th: trine Saturn Rx in Sagittarius (27 deg)
  • Apr 24th: square Vesta in Cancer (27 deg)
  • Apr 28th: conjunct Uranus (25 deg)
  • May 3rd: stations direct (24 deg)
  • May 10th: conjunct Uranus (25 deg)
  • May 11th: trine Saturn Rx in Sagittarius (26 deg)
  • May 14th: trine the Leo North Node (28 deg)
  • May 16th: reenters Taurus
  • May 22nd: square Vesta in Leo (6 deg)
  • May 26th: inconjunct Black Moon Lilith in Sagittarius (11 deg)
  • May 27th: inconjunct Jupiter Rx in Libra (13 deg)
  • May 28th: sextile Neptune in Pisces (14 deg)
  • May 30th: trine Juno Rx in Capricorn (17 deg)
  • May 31st: trine Pluto Rx in Capricorn (19 deg)
  • Jun 4th: inconjunct Saturn Rx in Sagittarius (25 deg)
  • Jun 5th: square the North Node in Leo/South Node in Aquarius (27 deg)
  • Jun 5th: sextile Chiron in Pisces (28 deg)
  • Jun 6th: Gemini ingress

Pallas Enters Aries: Winning Strategies

Rembrandt

Rembrandt

Pallas enters Aries on March 30th. Named after Pallas Athena (the warrior goddess) she is described in Asteroid Goddesses (Demetra George and Douglas Bloch) as woman’s power in a mans’ world. Androgynous, she emphasized her masculine side so she could compete with the “boys.”

In Aries, the feminist fight may be more pronounced – the battle to assert ideas that don’t fit with tradition, or the patriarchy. Winning strategies will be essential. This is not about nice-to-haves, or dreamy pictures. Pallas plays for keeps in Aries. Direct tactics will serve you better than hints or manipulation.

This transit can be about the birth of a new pattern- the urge to start something, based on your intuition. Logic will not be the driver, but passion or competition will. Strategies to address problems will be triggered by challenge. Are they saying no one has ever attempted this, and the odds are against you? This is what Pallas in Aries loves to hear. Aries is the pioneer, so we have the potential for something brand new. The desire for success will certainly be there, but the execution will be up to you.

Pallas enters Taurus on June 26th, 2017. She’ll return to Aries in November, when she’s Rx, and won’t reenter Taurus until 2018. So there’s an extended battle coming up.

  • Jun 26th, 2017: Taurus ingress
  • Sept 11th, 2017: stations Rx in Taurus (14 deg)
  • Nov 15th, 2017: reenters Aries
  • Dec 17th, 2017: stations direct in Aries (25 deg)
  • Jan 19th, 2018: reenters Taurus

Aries Season: Open The Window

Leon Wyczółkowski

Leon Wyczółkowski

Aries season kicks off on March 20th. The Sun’s ingress into the first sign marks the Vernal Equinox. The hours of daylight and darkness are equal, tipping over into longer days as we move forward.

Aries already has some significant action happening, with Venus Rx, Mercury, and of course, Uranus. This area of your chart is primed for a reboot, and the first day of spring may trigger it. All the usual symbolism applies: new life, primal impulses and unrefined initiative. This is raw energy, bursting with potential.

This Aries ingress coincides with the last quarter square of the Moon. A few hours after the Sun enters Aries, the Moon at 0 degrees Capricorn will square it. This part of the lunar cycle was described by Dane Rudhyar as a “crisis in consciousness.” Old beliefs are challenged by newly emerging beliefs. Maybe you don’t fit in where you used to fit in. Maybe you find yourself disagreeing with the prevailing beliefs of your family, friends or industry. The discomfort of the square pushes you to find something new – new rules, new structures, new definitions of status (Capricorn).

There may not be an obvious crisis. You might just feel a growing sense of restlessness – an urge to let some fresh air in. Do the usual routines, conversations or interests suddenly feel stale? Venus Rx has already been pushing you to reevaluate. Now the Vernal Equinox will up the stakes – something new is emerging. All the aspects the Aries Sun makes, plus the New and Full Moons, will be points of clarity, intensification or tension that are designed to stimulate progress.

The March 27th New Moon will trigger your emergence from the crisis of the last quarter square. This will be your new idea/direction, and Venus Rx will play an essential role.

Here are the aspects the Sun in Aries will make:

  • Mar 23rd: inconjunct the Virgo North Node (3 deg)
  • Mar 24th: trine Black Moon Lilith in Sagittarius (4 deg)
  • Mar 25th: conjunct Venus Rx (4 deg)
  • Mar 27th: New Moon in Aries (7 deg)
  • Apr 4th: square Juno in Capricorn (15 deg)
  • Apr 7th: opposite Jupiter Rx in Libra (18 deg)
  • Apr 8th: square Pluto in Capricorn (19 deg)
  • Apr 11th: Full Moon in Libra (21 deg)
  • Apr 14th: conjunct Uranus (24 deg)
  • Apr 14th: square Vesta in Cancer (25 deg)
  • Apr 17th: trine Saturn Rx in Sagittarius (27 deg)
  • Apr 19th: Taurus ingress
