Vesta’s Transit of Libra

pexels.com

pexels.com

Vesta enters Libra on September 18th. An area of extreme focus will be concentrated on comparison, one-on-one relationships and being liked/loved/socially accepted.

Vesta’s focus always cranks things up a few notches. During this transit, a particular relationship (and your devotion to that person) may become paramount. Or, there could be a fixation on comparison, as you obsess over what they have/how they appear. Before Libra can achieve balance, there is an imbalance. Vesta’s tunnel vision can tip things over the edge. The importance of looking/acting just so could become everything.

The “you versus them” dynamic will have to be addressed. Are you focusing so much on pleasing/competing that you lose sight of yourself? If you get caught up in Libra’s projections, you can give away Vesta’s (your) sacred fire.

The benefits of this transit include a dedication to harmony and equality. Absolute fairness can become a must-have. Excellent for negotiations that require some added steel.

Vesta will exit Libra for Scorpio on November 15th, 2017.

Mars’ Transit of Virgo: The Pursuit Of Perfection

pexels.com

pexels.com

Mars’ Virgo ingress takes place on September 5th at 5:34 AM EDT.

Actions can be productive or obsessive, depending on how the intense perfectionism is handled. Mars in Virgo can help you get organized and initiate solutions – you’re no longer just talking about making it better, you’re actually doing something. But if you get stuck in crisis mode (it’s all wrong, it’s too much, I’ll never be ready) this can be a panicky, unproductive time.

This is not your typical hot -tempered transit – Virgo is the “service sign.” But Mars in Virgo can trigger anger if a situation does not meet certain standards. Those standards can be sensible or irrational – as with all signs, Virgo’s energy runs the gamut. The healthy manifestation would look like a clean, empowering upgrade. Anger/frustration at falling short can fuel tremendous work (on yourself or an external goal). What’s wasteful or below par is ruthlessly cut out. This is how things get done, and done correctly. The unhealthy manifestation would involve sadistic insistence on an impossible-to-achieve standard. You end up punishing yourself or someone else, because of a microscopic flaw.

Virgo is about what’s missing and what’s not good enough. In this context, Mars is driven to find the elusive prize – just one more adjustment and you’ll find X or make it perfect. In all Mars matters (sex, action, initiation) this means technique over raw impulse. Every move is refined, and has a specific purpose. But it can also mean a fruitless pursuit of something better, when what you have is just fine.

Also on September 5th, Mercury (ruler of Virgo) stations direct at 28 degrees Leo, which is the same degree as the August 21st New Moon eclipse. There’s forward movement, as Mars carries an event from that eclipse into new territory. Now that you have all the facts, you can take targeted action. There’s nothing random about this – you must have a specific plan. The Virgo Sun opposes Neptune Rx in Pisces, which refers to the September 6th Full Moon. Even as you’re gearing up to do it right, something that’s beyond your control is flowing forward – an expansion or ending. Don’t worry about what you can’t control. Focus on what’s in front of you.

Here are the aspects Mars in Virgo will make:

  • September 10th: trine Juno in Capricorn (3 deg)
  • September 24th: opposite Neptune Rx in Pisces (12 deg)
  • September 26th: trine Pallas Rx in Taurus (13 deg)
  • October 1st: trine Pluto in Capricorn (16 deg)
  • October 5th: conjunct Venus (19 deg)
  • October 11th: square Saturn in Sagittarius (22 deg)
  • October 15th: opposite Chiron Rx in Pisces (25 deg)
  • October 17th: inconjunct Uranus Rx in Aries (26 deg)
  • October 18th square Black Moon Lilith in Sag (27 deg)
  • October 22nd: Libra ingress

Venus’ Transit of Leo: Look At You

Alexander Roslin

Alexander Roslin

Venus enters Leo on August 26th. Relationships, money and self-esteem issues take centre stage – what you want can become a point of pride or a cry for attention.

Venus in Leo asks you to put your wants first. Do you feel beautiful? Does your relationship make you feel special? What makes you happy should also boost your confidence. Maybe it’s time for you to receive that reward for everything you’ve done. Look at you!

There’s nothing subtle about this transit – it’s about creating something that brings you joy. It’s about being recognized and feeling like you’re the best. Now is not the time to be humble or tone down the colour. Venus in Leo is bold, vibrant and loud.

If you’re not feeling proud or joyful, Venus in Leo can emphasize what’s missing. Rather than looking outside yourself, consider why you may feel less than loved or appreciated. You’ve probably read this so many times that it’s a cliché, but nobody is going to appreciate you if you don’t appreciate yourself. During this transit, you attract by putting yourself first. This is not the same as putting others down. It’s about pure confidence and dignity – you know you deserve the best, and that knowledge radiates outwards.

Healthy Venus in Leo is generous and loving with others, because she knows she’s all that. She attracts praise naturally – there’s more than enough to go around. Distorted Venus in Leo stamps her feet and demands attention, because she’s not proud of who she is and requires a constant stream of reassurance.

Here are the aspects Venus in Leo will make:

  • Aug 28th:inconjunct Juno in Capricorn (2 deg)
  • Sept 5th: inconjunct Neptune Rx in Pisces (12 deg)
  • Sept 6th: square Pallas in Taurus (14 deg)
  • Sept 9th: inconjunct Pluto Rx in Capricorn (16 deg)
  • Sept 12th: trine Saturn in Sagittarius (21 deg)
  • Sept 14th: conjunct the North Node (23 deg)
  • Sept 14th: trine Black Moon Lilith in Sagittarius (23 deg)
  • Sept 15th: sextile Jupiter in Libra (24 deg)
  • Sept 17th: inconjunct Chiron Rx in Pisces (26 deg)
  • Sept 18th: trine Uranus Rx in Aries (27 deg)
  • Sept 19th: Virgo ingress

Mercury Into Virgo and Mercury Retrograde

pexels.com

Mercury’s Virgo ingress on July 25th kicks off an extended process of corrections. Mercury rules this sign, so detail-oriented communication, critiques and problem solving will be major themes.

This is the “get it right” transit. You may focus obsessively on a flaw/problem. Or, you could be the target of endless little criticisms. You won’t be allowed to let things slide. If you need to get your sh*t together and attend to the routine stuff you’ve been putting off, this is your transit. This is also your transit if you’ve been struggling to find a solution. Great for organizing and nailing down the specifics. Virgo is about the real facts – they must be proven, doable and ready to implement.

This influence favours analysis and diagnosis. Issues will picked apart until seemingly inconsequential bits are all that’s left. And this is where it gets real – do not make the mistake of ignoring something that’s too small. Nothing is too small in Virgo. The little thing hold the solutions.

Mercury stations Rx in Virgo, on August 12th. It will station direct in Leo on September 5th. Mercury Rx in Virgo will double the amount of corrections. Migraine-inducing details will urge you to look closer. You may need a magnifying glass. Virgo’s perfectionism will be in full force – something will need improvement. If you don’t see it, someone else will. The backtrack into Leo suggests returning to the original creation – the pure passion or joy. Before you can continue with the fix, you’ll have to go back to the source and ask some questions. Is it special enough? Will fixing it be a waste of your time?

As noted in this post, the process may have already started with the July 24th Mercury/Uranus trine.

Here are the aspects Mercury in Virgo will make:

  • Jul 30th: trine Juno Rx in Capricorn ( 4 deg)
  • Aug 2nd: conjunct Vesta (7 deg)
  • Aug 8th: trine Pallas in Taurus (8 deg)
  • Aug 10th: sextile Venus in Cancer (11 deg)
  • Aug 11th : conjunct Vesta (11 deg)
  • Aug 12th: stations Rx (11 deg)
  • Aug 13th: trine Pallas in Taurus (11 deg)
  • Aug 26th: conjunct the Sun (3 deg)
  • Aug 27th: trine Juno in Capricorn (2 deg)
  • Aug 31st: Leo ingress
  • Sept 3rd: conjunct Mars in Leo (28 deg)
  • Sept 5th: stations direct in Leo (28 deg)
  • Sept 9th: Virgo ingress
  • Sept 13th: trine Juno in Capricorn (3 deg)

  • Sept 29th: Libra ingress

The Sun Enters Leo

pexels.com

pexels.com

Leo season begins on July 22nd, as the Sun enters the sign it rules and joins Mercury, Mars and the North Node

We’ve got a Leo New Moon and two eclipses coming up. The Leo-occupied house(s) of your chart is where the action will be for July and August.

For some, this can be a time of attention, romance and fun. A wonderful new creation can emerge – something you’ve poured your passion and purpose into. Celebrate, because it’s not every day that such a bright, powerful sign has so much celestial weight behind it.

But this season can also be an unpleasant reminder of what’s missing and where you feel ignored, powerless or bored. This energy urges you to turn your face towards the light and invite warmth, creativity and pride into your life. Is someone treating you like a slave/second thought? That relationship needs a hard look. Leo is the sign of royalty, and you deserve to feel special. Are you proud of where you’re at/what you’ve accomplished? No? This is the time to make changes.

Leo season is not a quiet season – everyone is not comfortable with the spotlight. Because the vibe will be amplified this year (due to the eclipses) some of you may be very uncomfortable with the buildup of heat. Consider what’s being illuminated in your chart. Watch for any areas of your life that clamour for attention. The more uncomfortable you feel, the more you need to pay attention.

Here are the aspects the Sun in Leo will make:

  • Jul 23rd: New Moon (0 deg)
  • Jul 26th: conjunct Mars (4 deg)
  • Jul 28th: inconjunct Juno Rx (5 deg Capricorn)
  • Aug 1st: square Pallas (9 deg Taurus)
  • Aug 5th: inconjunct Neptune Rx (13 deg Pisces)
  • Aug 7th: Full Moon eclipse (15 deg Aquarius)
  • Aug 9th: inconjunct Pluto Rx (17 deg Capricorn)
  • Aug 10th: sextile Jupiter (18 deg Libra)
  • Aug 12th: trine Black Moon Lilith (20 deg Sagittarius)
  • Aug 13th: trine Saturn Rx (21 deg Sagittarius)
  • Aug 16th: conjunct the North Node (24 deg)
  • Aug 20th: inconjunct Chiron Rx (27 deg Pisces)
  • Aug 21st: trine Uranus Rx (28 deg Aries)
  • Aug 21st: New Moon eclipse (28 deg)
  • Aug 22nd: Virgo ingress

Mars’ Transit of Leo

Pierre Mignard

Pierre Mignard

Mars enters Leo on July 20th, giving us a double shot of fire. Passion and initiative will be triggered by the pursuit of recognition, or the urge to create. Actions will be grandiose, or at least quite obvious – this is not a subtle transit.

Are you proud of your actions? Are you starting something that favours fun, romance or creative self-expression? This is what Mars in Leo is about. You’re igniting something in the Leo-occupied house(s) of your chart.  Of course, you have to note the difference between actively working for something that increases your pride versus stamping your feet if you’re being ignored. If you’re not being appreciated, consider what needs to change, then make it happen (Mars transits are not about waiting).

Leo’s pride and fixed qualities are mixed with Mars’ raw energy -if you need to dig in with confidence and perseverance, this is the transit for you. You can take courageous action and stick with what you started.

The July 26th Sun/Mars conjunction will mark the end of something that began around June 14th, 2015 (the last Sun/Mars conjunction). Every ending is a new beginning, so this will be a significant turning point in how you take action, or express your anger/passion/intentions. Mars will also be featured on the July 23rd New Moon and the August 7th Full Moon eclipse in Aquarius. So you see that this is no ordinary Mars transit.

Here are the aspects Mars in Leo will make:

  • July 26th: conjunct the Sun (4 deg)
  • Jul 28th: inconjunct Juno Rx (5 deg Capricorn)
  • Aug 4th: square Pallas (10 deg Taurus)
  • Aug 10th: inconjunct Neptune Rx (13 deg Pisces)
  • Aug 16th: inconjunct Pluto Rx (17 deg Capricorn)
  • Aug 20th: sextile Jupiter (20 deg Libra)
  • Aug 22nd: trine Saturn Rx (21 deg Sagittarius)
  • Aug 22nd: trine Black Moon Lilith (21 deg Sagittarius)
  • Aug 27th: conjunct the North Node (24 deg)
  • Sep 1st: inconjunct Chiron Rx (27 deg Pisces)
  • Sep 2nd: trine Uranus Rx (28 deg Aries)
  • Sep 3rd: conjunct Mercury Rx (28 deg)
  • Sep 5th: Virgo ingress

July 17th, 2017: Play It Smart, Not Crazy

pexels.com

pexels.com

  • Venus in Gemini square Neptune Rx in Pisces: 14 degrees
  • Mars in Cancer square Uranus in Aries: 28 degrees

When the planets of love (Venus) and sex (Mars) both make hard aspects to the outer planets, you know today has the potential to go off the rails. There could be an emotional pursuit of someone who doesn’t exist – you’re “in love” with their Instagram account. Or, the drunken text that seems edgy-sexy at the time. But you regret it the next morning.

Of course, this can be about other things. Venus is what you want and Mars is what you do to get it. Venus covers money, self-esteem, beauty and all social interactions. Mars is anger, violence, action.

Neptune’s blurry square can enhance a craving for something impossible, so you end up making the wrong choice (Gemini). Uranus’ push can trigger impulsive actions as you snap or take a risk. The root cause will probably involve a need (Cancer) that must be met ASAP.

As I wrote in this week’s horoscopes, Venus and Mars will calm down on the 18th with some beneficial aspects (post to follow on the 18th). So there is good potential here – Venus/Neptune can lead to something beautiful, compassionate and creative. Mars/Uranus can set you free as you give suffocating traditions/family the boot. The net result is expansion and opening. Exhale.

But you have to be careful today. Really careful. Think before you act. Consider your options. If you’re tempted to dive headfirst into something, ask yourself if it’s in your best interests. If you’re trying to open something up or pursue, control your impatience and move carefully. Do you really want X, or is something else at play?

Ceres’ Transit of Cancer

Honoré Daumier

Honoré Daumier

Ceres enters Cancer today, and she’s right at home in this sign.

She’s the Great Mother and goddess of the crops. The loss of her daughter (Persephone) to the King of the Underworld (Pluto) resulted in the crops withering until Persephone was allowed to return for part of the year.

Cancer is about sustenance, emotional protection and mother/child.

Ceres’ transit of Cancer could stir up the perfect storm for these issues – your relationship with food, your relationship with Mom, codependence, fear of being abandoned, etc. However, this transit can also favour the birth of a child or your own self-nurturing. Much depends on what’s churned up from the past, and your current experience of getting your needs met.

Ceres is as much about loss as she is about nurturing and feeding. On the same day as she enters Cancer, the Cancer Sun will make an exact opposition to Pluto Rx in Capricorn (18 degrees). Not only does this recall the the recent Capricorn Full Moon, it weaves Pluto’s undercurrent of death into her transit. Don’t be scared – Pluto’s “death” is often metaphorical and necessary. The absolute ending. And Ceres into Cancer is a brand new beginning, which can only happen after an absolute ending/transformation.

Of particular note will be Ceres’ opposition to Pluto (17 degrees) on August 21st, 2017.

This transit could confront you with a loss, in the present or from the deep past. But there’s also potential to build a powerful bond between yourself and another. The relationship between you and your Mom or child could be permanently transformed. Or, you could decide that it’s time to get serious about looking after yourself.

Ceres will exit Cancer on September 24th, 2017.
