May 24th, 2019: Step Back From What You Want

  • Moon in Aquarius trine Mercury in Gemini (6 deg)

  • Moon in Aquarius square Venus in Taurus (11 deg)

Open and detached communication can unfold smoothly with the Moon/Mercury trine. Step back from the choices and you’ll discover some new and interesting angles. Perhaps there are more choices than you realized. Excellent for communicating unconventional ideas or connecting with odd, inspirational people.

However, Moon/Venus suggests some discord between this detachment versus solid, predictable manifestations of what you want. The tension between materialism/possessiveness versus freedom can trigger insecurities and corresponding intensified desires.

So the head is on track, but the heart will experience some bumps. When in doubt, talk it out. If someone tells you they need more space, try not to react by tightening your grip. Take a deep breath and view the available options with clear eyes.

May 16th, 2019: Proper Focus

  • Waxing Inconjunct between the Libra Moon and Taurus Sun (25 deg)

  • Mercury in Taurus trine Capricorn South Node (19 deg) and Saturn Rx in Capricorn (20 deg)

The Waxing Inconjunct can trigger moments of frustration as you realize that it’s not all about you. Your primary focus on self (money, security or values) will be interrupted by the requirement to balance this with someone else’s needs. You’re not forgetting about you, but now is the time for a bit of compromise.

Mercury’s trines will keep the conversation or plans firmly fixed on existing rules and responsibilities. Yes, you want to move on from the past, but some obligations are necessary to keep your focus in line with what matters – what’s real and reliable. This can mark the harmonious conclusion of an official plan, the signing of a document, a commitment or your firm understanding of what needs to be said. Perhaps you’re communicating your boundaries. Too, memories can be reassuring as they draw your attention to what you’ve built.

Mercury is also making a sextile to the Cancer North Node, so what you say or define from the past will give you a structured view of the future.

Venus’ Transit of Taurus, May 15th: What Do You Want?

Jan Jansz van de Velde

Jan Jansz van de Velde

Building on yesterday’s Venus/Mars connection, Venus moves into Taurus which harmonizes with Mars’ same-day ingress into Cancer. While they won’t be making an exact aspect any more, they are still close enough to play nice with each other until May 18th.

Venus is strong in the sign she rules, which means solid, physical evidence of what you want/love. Values, money and relationships are expressed through subjective survival instincts and a “what’s in it for me?” approach. This transit can help you determine what has genuine value and how you can treat yourself on a tangible level. Selfish can be good when you look out for yourself and tune into what /who really makes you happy and secure. “Secure” is the key word – Venus in Taurus has no time for anything that’s unsafe or unproven. And, it must have growth potential – this is a fertile sign.

The “not quite” sextile to Mars in Cancer suggests that nurturing actions will enable personal growth, necessary indulgence and a recognition of what you really want. Venus in Taurus is one of the most sensual tranists, and it doesn’t have to be complicated. Focus on what feels/smells/tastes good without questioning it. If you like it and no one else does, who cares? This transit is about what makes you happy on a tangible level. Can you get more of it? Even better.

Having said this, Venus’ conjunction with Uranus will have some surprises – more on that in the daily post or you can read my Patreon post about this yearly conjunction.

Here are the aspects Venus in Taurus will make:

  • May 16th: sextile Black Moon Lilith in Pisces (1 deg)

  • May 18th: conjunct Uranus ( 3 deg)

  • May 22nd: inconjunct Ceres Rx in Sagittaiurs (8 deg)

  • May 23rd: inconjunct Pallas Rx in Libra (10 deg)

  • May 30th: trine South Node in Capricorn (18 deg)

  • May 30th: sextile Neptune in Pisces (18 deg)

  • May 31st: trine Saturn Rx in Capricorn (19 deg)

  • May 31st: sextile Juno in Cancer (20 deg)

  • Jun 1st: inconjunct Jupiter Rx in Sagittarius (20 deg)

  • Jun 2nd: trine Pluto Rx in Capricorn (22 deg)

  • Jun 8th: Gemini ingress

May 13th, 2019: A Reason to be Confident

  • Taurus Sun inconjunct Jupiter Rx in Sagittarius (22 deg)

  • Taurus Sun trine Pluto Rx in Capricorn (23 deg)

Sun trine Pluto is power expressed in an easy way. It can be accessed naturally and influence (over others) can be expressed smoothly. f you tap into the destruction and redefinition of rules/commitments, you can tap into something truthful that lies beneath the surface. This evolution will fuel your confidence, purpose and ability to manifest security.

This is the power of death, rebirth and growth.

But the Sun does make an awkward inconjunct to Jupiter (optimism), so there will be a spot of exaggeration arising from lack of confidence. Fear of the big change? An issue of faith/expansion is incompatible with what’s established but transforming. You may overcompensate and push for too much, or try to dominate others. Loss of perspective is a possibility, so be aware of your foundation and the promising opportunities ahead. Try to balance them and know that you have reason to be confident.

Pluto and Jupiter are retrograde, so this is an issue you’re returning to. Maybe it’s a second chance.

May 12th, 2019: Double Yod

Double Yod.jpg

  • Mercury in Taurus inconjunct Ceres Rx in Sagittarius (10 deg)

  • Mercury in Taurus inconjunct Pallas Rx in Libra (11 deg)

  • Mercury in Taurus sextile Juno in Cancer (10 deg)

  • Juno in Cancer inconjunct Ceres Rx in Sagittarius (10 deg)

A double Yod happening today, featuring Mercury in Taurus. The tension between growth and safety in a relationship agreement will be featured, and discussions are liable to be slow and awkward.

Yod #1

Mercury makes an inconjunct to Ceres Rx and Pallas Rx, so Mercury is the focal point. Mercury receives two tense aspects – solid, predictable words and ideas are incompatible with the nurturing of new, expansive areas (Ceres in Sag) and relationship strategies that involve compromise (Pallas in Libra).

Stubborn, uncompromising words may block relationship growth and flexibility. Perhaps there’s a refusal to accept change. But Mercury is also the goal, so relationship flexibility must be balanced with set ideas. Find some changes that both people can agree on and commit to those changes. Stick with the plan and make it solid (Taurus).

Yod #2

Mercury and Juno make inconjuncts to Ceres. Juno in Cancer is the agreement to nurture and stay safe. Ceres in Sag is new, expansive forms of nurturing. This time, Ceres is the focal point so that drive for change will disrupt the cozy agreement (that’s supported by fixed ideas). Ceres is also the goal – keep growing together, but find a way to do it safely and slowly. Zero growth in a relationship equals stagnation, but you can do it in such a way that both parties feel secure.

The key with handling Yods is to view the inconjuncts as aspects of adjustment- adjust both sides so they can work together (this can usually be accomplished by moderating the energy at each end of the inconjunct). The focal point of the Yod is pressure point, the block and the goal – the energy of the Yod should be focused through this point.

Ceres and Pallas as both retrograde, so you’re returning to this issue. It hasn’t become any easier, but you can still work with it.
