Sun conjunct Mercury Rx in Cancer (28 deg)
Venus in Cancer opposite Pluto Rx in Capricorn (21 deg)
Watch for some uncomfortable truths to be revealed. Sun/Mercury is the midpoint of the Mercury’s Rx, so emotional facts/info should be illuminated. You may gain an understanding of family issues/issues from the past. Or, the return to a past conversation can reveal a truth that you feel and understand.
Venus/Pluto adds an intense conclusion to the above. Pluto unearths dark compulsions, fears, obsessions or desires that lie behind Venus’ money, relationship or self-esteem issues. There can also be a profound “death” in one of these situations. The greater the attraction (or the more powerful the ending) the greater the transformation potential. Venus in Cancer wants safety and comfort, but Pluto insists on pushing things outside the comfort zone.
Oppositions also suggest projection, so these aspects can reveal some interesting facts about what you think you want – often, someone embodies what you need to develop within yourself, and your all-consuming obsession with them is simply a reflection of this.
It may feel as if what you want or have is wrapped up in primal, childhood dynamics. Power/domination can create unbalanced relationships with one partner as parent and the other as child. The Sun/Mercury conjunction will reveal a truth about these dynamics, so keep your eyes open.

Waxing Inconjunct between the Sagittarius Moon and Cancer Sun (21 deg)
Sun in Cancer opposite Pluto Rx in Capricorn (21 deg)
Challenging energies today, as the Waxing Inconjunct presents an awkward reminder that what’s safe/subjective needs to be adjusted with the bigger picture. Personal or family issues may receive an unwelcome injection of wisdom, education or expansion. You have to look up and out while still considering matters closest to you.
Adding to the discomfort, the Sun opposes Pluto Rx. Pluto is the Shadow, the power play or manipulation. The light of the Sun will expose what’s darkest, revealing the underside of family or deeply subjective concerns. Watch for domestic power plays, increased neediness or a result that indicates the “death” of a familiar situation.
This is where the Waxing Inconjunct will come in handy; as much as you may not want to consider the bigger picture or distant horizon, it’s essential that you factor it into this intense Pluto energy. You need that outside input because it will give you perspective on this heavy situation.

UPDATED. This post re-evaluates my definition of Eris in the light of her awakening conjunction with Uranus back in 2016/17. Eris may question the negative form of the Hindu goddess,…

This article has been updated from an earlier post. Last week I saw a client (let’s call her Sylvia) whose birthchart demonstrates the power of Pluto. Sylvia’s Sun is in the hard-working sign of Capricorn: Capricorns typically have a difficult life when they’re young but because they’re such hard workers (ruled by the Celestial Taskmaster himself, […]
