November 23rd, 2019: A Day of Healing

Abbott Handerson Thayer

  • Sagittarius Sun trine Chiron RX in Aries (1 °)

  • Mars in Scorpio sextile Ceres in Capricorn (2°)

Today is an excellent day to address what hurts and take serious steps to look after yourself or someone else.

Sun/Chiron can help you approach a painful situation with more optimism. Wounds or weaknesses can be confronted and integrated easily-watch for an increase in confidence that enables you to apply wisdom or even a sense of adventure to a touchy situation. This aspect also speaks to legal or religious guidance that helps you come to terms with a battle.

Mars/Ceres is active nurturing. This is about reaching for the deepest commitment or untapped reservoirs of strength and taking action to define the care and feeding of a situation or person. While this energy means business, the sextile is a gentle aspect; you won’t have to push. There should be an easy, almost effortless way to integrate intensive actions with structured care.

Nurturing can also apply to yourself. This is an opportunity to go a bit further (perhaps into uncomfortable or hidden territory) and use that energy to fuel your disciplined self-care. But the keyword is “action”: you have to do something with this energy if you want to reap the benefits.

Sagittarius Season

The Sun enters Sagittarius on November 22nd at 9:58 AM EST. Now we enter the season of expansion and new possibilities. Nothing is proven, but the hope of what could be is paramount. “Potential” is the key word.

This sign is about exploration and humour; we keep moving forward because we do not allow the seriousness of events to weigh us down. However, issues of right/wrong and truth/wisdom are approached with passion or fanaticism. Humour does not mean that big- picture issues are discounted. Optimism needs a direction, and that can run the gamut from open-minded curiosity about everything to radical crusades designed to convert everyone.

Will certain legal or political “truths” emerge during the Sagittarius season? Perhaps. With Sag, truth is often woven into a very convincing story.

But overall, the energy of this Jupiter -ruled sign is about bigger and better. Things have a tendency to increase and self-control flies out the window. But it’s always fun to tap into this energy if you want to celebrate and look forward to the future. And having something to look forward to is essential for progress.

Here are the aspects the Sagittarius Sun will make.

Nov 26th: New Moon (4°)

Dec 12th: Full Moon in Gemini (19°)

The Sun will enter Capricorn On December 21st.

November 19th, 2019: Third Quarter Square And Black Moon Lilith

  • Third Quarter Square between the Leo Moon and Scorpio Sun (27°)

  • Venus in Sagittarius square Black Moon Lilith in Pisces (22°)

The Third Quarter Square raises questions about the spotlight of external recognition versus the darkness of internal shadow work, secrets and investigations. The tension of this square does not demand action. Rather, it urges you to question what’s been hidden or forbidden. Issues of fame, pride or bold displays will create a jarring contrast with what’s going on behind the scenes. The questions can become obsessive as you fixate on what’s bright and obvious-has some jealousy been triggered? What are the shadow issues behind the bright light?

Venus/BML is about the tension between new and expansive relationships, values and optimistic ideals versus the cool and subtle current of taboo female sexuality: the witch, other woman, prostitute or outsider has a hard- to- pin-down magic that subverts more acceptable beliefs about women and female values. At this point of tension, it is proper and timely to question your beliefs before you move forward. In some way, a new experience will challenge Lilith’s slippery magic. This could be a question of sexual ethics or the struggle between man -made beliefs versus undefined spiritual energy.

November 17th, 2019: Waning Water Trine

  • Waning Trine between the Cancer Moon and Scorpio Sun (24°)

  • Uranus RX in Taurus inconjunct Pallas in Sagittarius (3°)

The Waning Trine offers a smooth flow between comfortable emotions and deeper issues. What’s intense or taboo can be shared safely with others. This energy is intuitive rather than logical-feel your way through the moment and allow emotional intimacy to unfold naturally.

Uranus/Pallas is a small but awkward point of tension between new and expansive strategies (Pallas) versus disruptions (Uranus) to what you’re trying to preserve. Sudden or enforced liberation from stagnant security habits can result in impulsive strategies or fear of exploration. Don’t allow anxiety to derail a bigger pattern or solution that’s starting to emerge.

November 16th, 2019: Yod To Venus In Sagittarius

Yod.jpg

  • Cancer Moon inconjunct Venus in Sagittarius (18°)

  • Vesta RX in Taurus inconjunct Venus in Sagittarius (18°)

  • Cancer Moon sextile Vesta RX in Taurus (18°)

The above aspects make a configuration called a Yod. The harmonious sextile between the Moon and Vesta creates a stable base that’s rooted in the focus (Vesta) on habits (Taurus) and a familiar, comfortable environment (Cancer).

But the Moon and Vesta both made awkward inconjuncts to Venus in Sag-a new, slightly risky and tempting opportunity may distract you from your focus and make you feel uncomfortable. So there is a struggle to maintain that comfortable status quo even though something exotic beckons. The results can manifest as discord between what you want versus what you need.

The key with a Yod is to use the focal planet as a point of integration, because the focal plan is your task. The issues it represents will be prominent but difficult. Venus is the focal planet here, so what’s new and expansive must be integrated into what’s familiar. These will involve Venus themes- money, relationships, what you want, what you’re are attracted to, your values. There will be discomfort, security fears and anxiety because the Yod is a challenging configuration. The “target” (whatever Venus represents) will not respond to neediness or fear. Use the comforts that you know are real and sacred as a solid foundation, then reach upwards and outwards while keeping your feet planted.
