Continuing the energy of yesterday’s Full Moon, the Sun/Pluto square illuminates the shadow side of relationships. Power, fear of loss or jealousy will be underneath the surface. Scenarios are polite on the outside, but you’re not imagining the undercurrent of tension or intensity.

This aspect can indicate manipulative social situations or a death/crisis that completely changes the balance in a relationship. 

Ceres/BML is a crisis between the Great Mother and the Dangerous Woman. As the significator of nurturing, loss and rebirth, Ceres in Sag can mean the expansion of that cycle or hope for life in the future. But BML is a dark current that cuts across Ceres’ forward momentum-the witch/other woman/ sexual disruptor can challenge efforts to nurture or can undermine faith.  There could be a showdown between the mother and the seductress, or a crisis between mothering versus undefined sexuality.

The excavation of corruption or what’s dead/ dying beneath the surface will speed up as Pluto moves forward. We’re on to the next round of potent deconstruction and transformation. 

Pluto in Capricorn has been breaking down old rules and commitments by opening your eyes to what’s no longer valid. Pluto often brings what’s dark to the surface so it can be purged. As intimidating as this sounds, it’s really just about getting to the raw ,often hidden, truth. Sometimes what’s dying could be as mundane as outdated habits or the natural conclusion of a relationship. This is not necessarily corruption, it’s simply an ending whose time has come. In other cases, it could be more serious (like a reveal of abuses of authority or destructive secrets).

Pluto direct means new changes are incoming – keep them in perspective by looking at the reality (Capricorn) of what’s happening in your life.

The Tree of Time

An early morning walk in Wytham woods set me thinking about the cycles of time. We also ran into the forester with a shotgun, who told us a story about magic mushrooms, and a group of scientists sitting around very delicately tagging the legs of birds. It was lovely — and timeless (except for the fact that the birds will each have a teeny electronic tracker attached to its leg).

The theme today is harmony challenged by uncomfortable truths. Don’t expect things to go smoothly, but there will be extreme valueI in the tension.

The Sun illuminates Chiron’s pain or vulnerability but you may experience it through another. The opposition is an aspect of projection and Libra strongly emphasizes protection. So this could involve projected wounds, or seeing your pain reflected in the eyes of another. Social or relationship purposes can be compromised by wounds that are not owned. Feeling like a victim (everyone is out to get you) is a possibility.

On the plus side, there is a chance to access empathy through another’s difficulties. Keep an eye out for unbalanced situations where a wound becomes the main purpose.
