August Asteroids

Taking a quick look at what the asteroids are up to at the moment. Juno, Pallas, Ceres and Vesta move slowly enough to have serious impact, and quickly enough to be entertaining. Getting to know your asteroids adds a little turmeric and chili, ginger and garlic to your horoscopic stew. Especially relevant for some signs, of course. Some ideas to ponder when it comes to social contracts…

Your Month Ahead Podcast: July 22-August 23

The astrology podcast that puts the month ahead into context. (I think we can all look forward to some fun times.) And, maybe just as importantly, takes a look back at what’s been happening in the previous 30 days, so we can all learn how to read the signs. Late July and August look pretty fiery, a dramatic change from the swirling waters of Cancer that we’ve just passed through. And Mars in Leo may finally get his mojo on too. There’s some really lucky cosmic energy coming up in the next few weeks, so be sure not to miss […]

Monthly Podcast: June 21-July 22

We ended up in Sally’s home recording the latest podcast for Cancer month. Previously, we tried to meet in London and record outside as we are at the peak of summer but, in the UK, heat-wave weather it is not. In fact, we got rained on. What we did discover was a new ‘home’ for our latest venture together – astrology workshops. Our first astrology event will take place on Saturday 7th December, 2019 in Covent Garden (book the date in your diary). Here we talk eclipses, Cancerians and Mercury Retrograde…

Eight Things To Do While The Sun is in Scorpio

It’s Scorpio time again — the “fixed” period of autumn. Fixed water: ice. Which says quite a bit about Scorpio itself, because ice is, of course, both beautiful and dangerous, delicious and special, wet and hard. Think about that…. Here are a few things you can do to get into the spirit of the season. Scare yourself silly in the library. That means either rewatching Buffy or picking up a copy of Dracula — still one of the scariest books I have ever read. Become a detective. In the North, the trees are shedding their leaves now, revealing what lies […]

New Podcast: The Month Ahead

What’s in store for the month ahead? Which Sun Signs are up? Which are, well, coasting? What dates should you take a risk and when should you stay at home? And why was last month so … last monthish? I’ll be chatting with my friend and fellow astrologer Sally Kirkman about our favourite topic – the language of the stars — at the start of each astrological month Our starting point is the Sun sign of the month and the major astrological events coming up, but we’ll see where that takes us… This month it’s Aries and that pesky Mercury Retrograde…

One-Day Workshop: What The Future Looks Like

The Oxford Astrology Group is hosting a day of talks and discussion on the year ahead. By the end of the day, you may have formulated a cunning scheme for riding the lustrous wave of energy that swooshes through 2018. 10am, 6 January 2018, The Sutro Room, Trinity College, Oxford This promises to be a year of massive change for us collectively and individually. Here are some of the  momentous planetary movements to talk about. Saturn coming home to Capricorn — after a 28 year absence. Chiron finally beginning again in Aries — after a seemingly endless sojourn in Pisces’ […]

Eclipse Story

Here’s what happened today. The TV fizzled out in an electrical whimper. Here’s how that works astrologically. The silver screen (Pisces) was eclipsed (solar eclipse + Neptune) due to a Uranus-Mars (electricity + bam!) conjunction. Neat. Hope it’s working out for you too.

Astrology of Now: My Eye

I thought I’d share some down-home astrology with you today. The Sun is squaring that gassy giant Neptune for a couple of days (November 30-December 1) — and I find myself semi-housebound with an eye infection. Neptune is pretty much on my natal Sun right now, which is also my chart ruler. The significance of the eye is that the Sun is one of the two “Lights” (the other being the Moon), traditionally associated with the left and right eyes. The Sun is, of course, the dexter eye, and this is where my stye is. Neptune is associated with poison and […]

Darby Costello in Oxford

I just wanted to remind you that a doyenne of psychological astrology, the wonderful Darby Costello, is coming here to Oxford in November. She’ll be giving a one-day workshop on the Progressed Moon as a guest of The Oxford Astrology Group. This workshop is suitable, I think, for anyone working with astrology on any level — whether that’s investigating your own chart or working with clients. Powered by Eventbrite

2016 Astrodiaries: Xmas Gift

Here is a must-have Christmas present for the astro-enthusiastic young women in your life: The Essential Life Guide 2016. Along with a host of quality astrologers — Jo Tracey, Sally Kirkman, Kelly Surtees, Sam Reynolds, Joanne Madeline Moore, Gary P Caton and more — I contributed text to these Aussie astro diaries this year. They are the brain child of Yasmin Boland over at Moonology, whose efforts at creating the diaries have been gargantuan. It’s a complex task. There’s a book for each sign with a horoscope for every day of the year, an astrological summary of each month and  of the year ahead. The idea […]
