Mercury stations Rx at 15 degrees Capricorn, on December 19th. It will be close to, but not exactly conjunct, Pluto in Capricorn. This suggests approaching a profound decision, or intense discovery. Mercury/Pluto, in authoritative Capricorn, is the word that no one argues with. The mind is made up, and there’s no turning back, due to Pluto’s complete transformation. Information/declarations penetrate the existing structure and embed themselves. Forever.
In light of this, Mercury’s Rx will be the time to seriously (Capricorn) think it over, before you commit all your energy. Reviews, corrections and delays will have an official tone. There may be a tangle of rules to sort out, or the rules will be questioned. Going back may be part of your responsibilities. Since Mercury Rx can reintroduce someone from the past, traditions (another Capricorn theme) could be up for review.
The structure or status of an area in your life will be closely examined.
Mars will enter Pisces on December 19th as well, indicating that this review will align itself with a change of intent. You may shift your path entirely. Will it be permanent, or will it only last for the duration of this Rx? Time will tell. Mercury’s Rx ingress into Sagittarius (January 4th) will take you all the way back to when the concept wasn’t even solid. The adventure or ideal was exciting, but not proven. This review will be a deep one, designed to absolutely confirm something.
January 29th, 2017 will be significant, because Mercury will finally conjoin Pluto (17 degrees). This will be the conclusion, as the word/idea takes root and changes everything. As noted, it will be permanent, so use the Rx period to prepare. Interestingly, Mars will enter Aries on January 28th, continuing the alignment of action with information. But this time, the delays will be over and you’ll be ready to start. Mars in Aries is pure action, and you’ll have Mercury/Pluto’s undeniable insight to back you up.
Check this post for a complete list of Mercury’s aspects.
Mercury turns Rx on December 19 at 15° Capricorn. Meets the Sun on December 28 at 7° Capricorn. Turns direct on January 8 at 28° Sagittarius. Returns to 15° Capricorn on January 27. Squares Uranus on February 1. Leaves Capricorn on February 7. Please take a look at the previous post on this Mercury Retrograde, considering the idea of climbing the mountain — and meeting the Lord of the Mountain. Then ask yourself these questions. What effect — if any — has Pluto’s transit through Capricorn had on me so far? Pluto entered Capricorn in January 2008. Pluto is a transforming […]

Imagine you are walking up a mountain trail. You’re slowing down because the way is getting steeper, and rougher — and your sense of dread and unease grows with every step. A dark shadow looms on the path in front of you, filling you with dread. You turn tail and fly, tripping down the mountainside. In fact, as you stumble away, you realise you had dropped your map some way behind anyway and you start looking for it on the way down. As you walk, you find that your path looks quite different from this angle. You are able to see layers of […]

Mercury enters Capricorn on December 2nd. Communication/ideas get real, focused and rigid.
Saturn-ruled Capricorn is the sign of structure. If you know someone with their natal Mercury in Capricorn, pay attention to how they speak and write. Their sentences are probably beautifully constructed and compelling. Mercury can excel in this sign. Limits are applied. The message is delivered with discipline and conviction.
Capricorn can also stifle Mercury’s flexibility. Traditional ideas are favoured over innovation. Thought patterns become stuck in fear-based traps.
You get the picture. This transit favours the manifestation of successful ideas, as long as focused intent is applied and the rules are followed. Formal documents, written commitments, signed contracts – these are all Mercury in Capricorn. Words become concrete via traditional expression.
Mercury Retrograde
Mercury will station Rx on December 19th, and will exit Capricorn for Sagittarius on January 4th. I’ll write a separate post on this, but for now, consider Mercury’s Rx from Capricorn to Sag as the time to review ideals before they are solidified. Mercury Rx in Capricorn wants to make certain the concepts are rock solid. Can you build a foundation on your faith?
Of particular note during this Rx will be Mercury’s triple-shot trine to the Virgo North Node. Here’s assistance for your trip along the North Node path. Concrete guidance in the form of a message/messenger. Take responsibility for what you say, and bring your ideas to maturity. This will help you move ahead.
I’ve listed the aspects Mercury will make, and bolded the repeat aspects. Pay attention to these. There’s an idea that needs to be examined more closely, if you have anything in these signs and at these degrees.
As Sun (ego) transits adventurous Sagittarius until December 21, a new path will be illuminated. A path where we can unleash our inner gypsy, so that our hair can be worn loose, wild and free. We’ll be in search for something that we can believe in again. Something that is bigger than ourselves, and larger than life itself. Something that is someone who […]
