Venus in Capricorn from Feb. 4 – March 2

Venus has bid adieu to expansive Jupiter, and now moves into Capricorn until March 2. While Venus was in Sagittarius, you were given some cosmic lessons that likely revealed what matters to you. You’ve had a chance to ponder your personal values, to add or delete some from your  rep – and, now that Venus is in Capricorn, it’s time to consolidate. This is put your money where your mouth is energy. And, actually, this might be a literal interpretation, given that both Venus and Capricorn are connected with money and commerce. So, in that sense, Venus in Capricorn would ask you to further the re-evaluations you made while she was in Sagittarius: being a consumer and supporter of those businesses or causes that uphold the same values as you. Venus in Capricorn continues that trend.

On another level, Venus in Capricorn suggests that we’ve moved into a four-week period in which you can ideally connect with those who have the ability to support your continued progress – whether financially or with sound feedback. This is a phase in which you need to be aware of how solid your relationships are (especially with colleagues), and how realistic your plans are. Capricorn energy is, after all, earthy and pragmatic.

It’s interesting to note that, now that Venus is in Capricorn and Saturn retrograde is in Libra, these two planets are in mutual reception. They’ve swapped homes for a bit, and function very much like a unit. So we’re getting a double dose of level-headed realism to help counter some of the run-away excitement that’s fueled by Jupiter in Aries, as well as Sun, Moon (for a few more hours), Mercury, Mars, Chiron and Neptune in Aquarius, the sign most concerned with long-term hopes and wishes. All of the best visualization and seeding for the future is for naught without the firm foundation that Venus in Capricorn and Saturn retrograde in Libra promote. Think about it: do you want to build a castle in the air, or do you want to create a future that manifests on terra firma? If you’re longing for the real deal, use this benevolent period to make steady progress each day, and you will be rewarded down the road.
