The much-anticipated day has arrived: Jupiter has moved into the very first sign of the zodiac. I personally find this to be a poignant moment. We’ve all witnessed and experienced Jupiter’s tour through Pisces, the last stop on the zodiac train. That tender spot between the final degree of Pisces and the first degree of Aries is reminiscent of a birth from the Cosmic waters into the fire of Creation. As the Sun makes a hopeful sextile to Jupiter, can you hear that sound? Like a mighty wind, that’s the sound of everyone taking in one huge collective breath (Sun in Aquarius), aware that a new opportunity exists (sextile) to leap into a brand new chapter of life (Jupiter in Aries).
Because Aries energy is necessarily focused on self discovery, the potential to become overly self absorbed is especially potent with Jupiter’s presence amplifying Aries. But notice that, at the moment that Jupiter dives from Pisces’ oceanic realms into Aries’ fire, the Moon is in humble and service-oriented Virgo – which shares the same axis with spiritual Pisces. This is one clue that, as momentous as the process of self-discovery is, it is not meant to hijack the greater purpose of adding a meaningful contribution to a better future for all.
If you truly can’t imagine what you can do to create a new earth – dare I say, heaven on earth – the Moon’s trine to Pluto in Capricorn boosts your ability to reach within and find those gifts that only you can bring to the collective. Even if you think your offering is fairly mundane, there’s something about the way that you put it out there that’s necessary and unique. Everyone has a role to play in writing a new chapter that gets added into the greater story unfolding. This is no time to play shrinking violet; but neither is it time to puff up your feathers as though you’re the only songbird in the forest. We’re all in this cosmic soup together, so let’s see what we can do to ensure that everyone sups at the feast. My sincerest hope is that, regardless of the corruption we’ve all come to see in politics and in corporatism, the vast majority of people around the globe understand that there is room for all. And we work together to make it so.
Aries Sun & Rising: Now that Jupiter is in your corner, the world is your playground, Ram! So what does adventure mean to you? This is your five-month window to experience whatever new beginnings are of vital importance to you. Know your goals and define them clearly. If you’re ready to spring into action, now is the time to launch those big initiatives. You may be thinking of taking over the Universe (and you’ve got the moxy to do so!) but you still need help. To that end, cultivate strong and cordial relationships with the key players in your life. Though you’re more than ready to take on a cause and lead it with gusto, you still require a team. These are the very people who will expect to you to justify the validity of what you’re hoping to accomplish. They’ll also want to know that your project can withstand a potentially bumpy ride. Be passionate about what you’re doing and believe in its success; but do your research (if you haven’t already) and know what the stakes are. There are risks involved come March, when Uranus moves into your sign, but Jupiter will mitigate these risks, to the extent that you do your homework.
Taurus Sun & Rising: Think of Jupiter as your guardian angel, for his protective presence falls in your solar twelfth house of the unconscious. This is the godsend at the eleventh hour. Notice over the next five months, that you always land on your feet – even if it looks like all is lost. Your unconscious speaks to you through symbolic language. With that in mind, your nightly dreams will be an important fount of information, so track them and make use of Jupiter’s exceptional pattern-recognition ability to identify the common threads in those dreams. This is also the best time to make use of your abundant imagination to envision a new dream. Dream big; when Jupiter crosses your Ascendant in June, it’s time to manifest your desires.
Gemini Sun & Rising: These next five months are crucial for enlarging your network. Consider friends and colleagues, as well as members of any clubs or associations with whom you’re affiliated. Many of these fine folk are poised to help you now. The interesting thing is that you have a knack for connecting with just the right person at the right moment. It may look like luck; it may appear as though Life just keeps sending the ideal contacts that help foster your continued momentum. Take advantage of this period; whatever you have yet to launch needs to get off the ground sooner rather than later. Come June, Jupiter will play a more subliminal role in your life – no less powerful – but this is the time to utilize the wealth of information and help that your people can provide.
Cancer Sun & Rising: This is the mother lode, babe. All of the blood, sweat and tears you’ve poured into making those career aspirations a reality are ready to pay off handsomely for you now. You’ve slogged away for months; now step into the limelight and accept the kudos and all other gifts that come your way. Know that you deserve this and don’t shy away from glory. A few noses may be out of joint, and you may feel keenly sensitive to being the one for whom some people feel a misplaced of jealousy. Let that go; everyone eventually gets their time in the sun, and yours is now. Make no apology; there’s a reason why it’s you and not the next guy who’s on the fast track to success. You’ve come face to face with the reality that love and loss are intimately linked. And now it’s your particular blend of intuition and pragmatism that’s required to keep things functioning in the world at large. See this as a sacred responsibility if it helps mitigate that occasional nagging feeling that you stepped on so-and-so’s toes.
Leo Sun & Rising: Okay superstar, you’re almost ready for your close-up. But first, a class or two to enlarge your scope of knowledge, or to fill in any missing pieces of information. Even if you have no aspirations to enroll in classes, Life is trying to give you a crash masters degree right now. With that in mind, use these next five months to soak up learning from every experience. Find the larger purpose at work in everything happening in and around you. Travel if you can – but even if you’re not prepared to hop on a plane, immersing yourself in other cultures is as easy as stepping into a museum or art gallery. There’s no need to concern yourself with what the practical use of all of this is; it’s amazing how seemingly random pieces of information provide a stepping stone at some unforeseen juncture in the road. Prepare ye the way!
Virgo Sun & Rising: Suddenly sex is the medium through which you experience Life at its most raw and intimate. The reality is that this is an ancient form of connecting to the sacred, and it’s calling you home. Sacred sex has always been in your blood, after all. Think back to the days of the Roman Empire. At that time the virgin – your totem – was a woman with autonomy; she belonged to no man. Far from being sexually vacant, she was sexually alive and active, often uniting with men as a means of helping them connect to the goddess within. Think of yourself as that very conduit now; the act of sharing yourself in the most intimate ways imaginable opens a portal to deeper levels of reality – for yourself and for those with whom you enter into the dance. To assist you in this five-month journey into the mystic realms, supplement your knowledge of how the Universe works by studying any topics typically labeled ‘occult’. Begin with whatever turns you on. If you’ve always had a secret fascination with spells or magic, investigate. Want to try tarot? Terrific. It’s your passion for the subject that will provide a deeper propulsion into the realm of Mystery. Jump in, and know that Jupiter will guide you.
Libra Sun & Rising: This is a pivotal five months for you. Jupiter has moved into your solar seventh house of committed partnerships. Along with spouses, all key relationships are on a new and benevolent track. If you’re looking for an agent or some other type of business representative, this is your time. While you are encouraged to actively seek out any key players you need on your side, be confident that new people are set to enter your scene, as if by divine providence. Now, in terms of romantic partnership, we do need to get honest for a moment: you’re a die-hard romantic, is that fair? So, if someone fabulous comes along to sweep you off your feet, well there goes your reason. At least that’s how it might normally play out – especially with Jupiter on the scene, because there’s a tendency to turn the beloved into a guru. Lucky for you, then, that Saturn continues to guard you, adding a dose of restraint so that you don’t become unrealistically enamored. Believe in the inherent goodness of all whom you encounter, but remember that these are human beings, my love.
Scorpio Sun & Rising: The truth is, if you don’t already have a plan for how you intend to maximize the most from each day, you need one. Jupiter is in your solar sixth house of daily environment – and, depending on your organizational ability, this is a boon or a bust. There are two possibilities to be mindful of: one is potential laziness, for Jupiter can easily recline on a sofa with a bag of Doritos. The other potential pitfall is expecting to accomplish more in one day than is realistically feasible. There is a balance between the two, and it’s your mission to find it. So we come back to the idea that having a realistic timeline for which to achieve your daily tasks will help keep you on track. Bear in mind that, with Saturn camping out in your twelfth house of the unconscious, your hidden fears are a potential block to not only your daily progress, but your health. Cultivate a healthy sense of optimism and believe in the future. Don’t buy into the cliché that it’s your job as a Scorpio to see the world through a lens darkly. Pessimistic thinking is the only thing that can stop you in your tracks. Surprise yourself by spreading some joy – only you can do that without going maudlin on everyone.
Sagittarius Sun & Rising: With Jupiter in your solar fifth house for the next five months, risk-taking may be particularly appealing to you, even if you tend to have conservative values. The risks that present themselves for your consideration will likely involve romantic matters and how you express your creative urges. If you have children, your relationship with them will also come into clearer focus. If you’re looking for love, unless you’re camped out in a cave, someone new is set to enter your scene. And, even if you’ve known disappointments in the past, you’ll be willing to risk giving your heart again. Hand in hand with new love, is an opportunity to let your artistic inclinations come out. Allow yourself to explore whatever creative inklings you have, for these are pathways to the heart – and the more open your heart, the more fully you can commune with the one you adore. It’s also a lovely time to enjoy the pleasures of live theatre and music. Wherever people congregate to experience the joys of artistic output is your lucky playground. Let these activities connect you with your heart.
Capricorn Sun & Rising: It looks like you’re moving into spacious new digs, or perhaps your family is expanding. Quite apart from the changes occurring on your home front, a new optimism flourishes on the ground on which you stand. You’re in touch with angelic guidance on a very deep level, and this may bring you a sense of comfort and purpose while you examine what’s happening in your professional life. We all need a sturdy foundation, after all, if we are to thrive in the public world. More than most, you need a chance to chill, though it’s often difficult for you to either recognize or admit this. My suggestion would be to allow yourself some personal time and space between now and March. The frenzied pace will likely return then, and you need to refill your well if you are to embrace the next chapter of your life. It’s exciting, but even exciting changes can exhaust the nervous system. Dream, and cultivate a new awareness of the expansion and contraction of time.
Aquarius Sun & Rising: You’ve always been a forward thinker, but that increases exponentially now. Ideas may ‘drop’ into your head, or you may see grand patterns in motion that others fail to notice. New systems of thought or ideologies may appeal to you now. If you are a writer, these next five months are a crucial window for you to devote to your most prized project. Your mental energy is at an all-time high, as is your creative outpouring. Ditto those of you involved in multi-media work. Regardless of your line of work, the idea is to share your thoughts and ideas, whether through casual conversation, public discourse, or as a student or educator. There’s some type of alchemy at work in these exchanges – and you are at times the catalyst and even the lightening rod that brings greater awareness into others’ lives. You’ve had years to get used to your mystic bent, and to practice employing your intuition. Now it’s time to take it to the streets, wunderkind.
Pisces Sun & Rising: Everything has magical properties in your world, including money. Now that benevolent Jupiter is in your solar second house of income, money appears to fall into your lap, as if by magic. Certainly, your faith in the Universe to provide for you in ways that are personally meaningful is magnified over these next five months. You come to experience in wondrous ways the truth that money is but one of many forms of energy, and that you are able to draw greater sums of it into your life. Still, it will behoove you to take nothing for granted. Your blessings are many, but you must be aware of the potential to squander what comes to you. Jupiter’s arrival on the scene can just as easily point to an excess in spending as it does an increase in earnings – especially in burn it up Aries. The deeper lesson here is to recognize the inherent value of everything you have. The abundance that you enjoy now is a type of preparation for the various ways that the Universe will call upon you to pass on your wealth to others, come June. It’s more likely that your wealth of experience and knowledge (as opposed to your financial aid) will be your greatest offering in due time. In the meantime, consider yourself a sacred storehouse of cosmic abundance and be an excellent steward of your resources.
