After yesterday’s Full Moon, I hope you’re feeling grounded and connected to your body and physical environment. You’re going to need to keep your tootsies planted as the cosmic kaleidoscope changes today. The Sun moves from earthy Capricorn into the airy home of Aquarius. Ideas and connections with others take centre stage over the next four weeks. Whenever Aquarius energy rises to the fore people tend to think in terms of finding their unique place in the group, and wanting to contribute in a meaningful way.
But what is a promising idea without the follow-up action to implement it? How many brilliant gems have you come up with, only to relegate them to the back burner until time allows you to act on your big ideas? As if to solve this dilemma, Mars – planet of action – is beside the Sun, declaring, “Thy will be done.” When the Sun and Mars get together in Aquarius, inspiration and follow-through become one and the same. The potential pitfall to this is that you may instigate a plan that hasn’t been sufficiently thought out. Imagine running off the edge of a cliff without checking to see how far the drop is, and you realize the possibility of danger if you act rashly.

There’s also the potential for a whole lot of hot air. After all, anytime that Mars connects with Sun the ego gets a major boost. Depending on how sure you are of yourself, this could be a benefit or a hindrance. If you consider that all of the planets are currently occupying zodiac signs that deal with the Collective and the greater good, you get the idea that the focus isn’t meant to be on me, me, me but rather we, we we…all the way home 🙂
There is one exception to the planetary line-up in group-oriented signs: The Moon is currently in Leo, a sign that deals with exploring self-expression through acts of creativity. Ruled by the Sun, Leo energy is concerned primarily with finding the heart of one’s Self. However, sitting opposite the Sun in Aquarius, the Moon (still in her Full phase) helps us to find that balance between the self and the group. You may want to play around with how your favourite creative past-times (whether they be hobbies or professions) contribute greater self-awareness for yourself and others. This is one way to weave yourself into the human tapestry with joy and love.
Finding that common ground between your interests and everyone else’s will take on greater importance once Jupiter shifts into Aries in two days. Stay tuned. In the meanwhile, you can prepare yourself for a whole new ball game by remaining centred in your truth, and remembering that each of us is but a piece in the whole. This is the message of the Aquarius water bearer. You are a drop of water, poised to make a tremendous impact on the surface you touch. What kind of impact do you choose to make?
