Gemini decan 3 is ruled by the Sun, god of the solar system. A most high and mighty ruler is totally fitting for this section of the ecliptic. The solar king shines through the Hunter, Dove, Bulls horns and the Charioteer from June 12 to 20. Gemini decan 3 is absolutely jam packed with bright fortunate stars, contains one arm of the Milky Way and is home to the Great Orion Nebula. This realm is super rich and known as the star nursery. This is a multi-talented, multi-tasking, multi-faceted super-parent who wants it all and does it all. Like tropical Gemini this decan has two sides to it and each one is just as forceful and strong as the other. On the one hand we have the peaceful dove and the nursing goat. This is the life-giver, birthplace of stars, the ever-nourishing Milky Way that flows from the breast of Nut the sky goddess. On the other hand we have the hunter, the destroyer of life, the mighty warrior, the potent phallus. Here we can either have the battle of the sexes or the sacred marriage of the god and the goddess.
Some native Indian tribes maintain that souls enter into existence though the area between constellations Taurus and Gemini. Gemini decan 3 actually is the section of the ecliptic which falls between the horns of the Bull and the foot of Castor the mortal twin. This area aligns perfectly (In longtitude) with the Great Orion Nebula, which is positioned near the tip of the Hunters phallic belt sword. These stars are like little starry sperm. Orions Nebula is probably the most photographed nebula in the sky and has fascinated us for thousands of years. It has even been suggested that this nebula underlies Michelangelo’s Creation on the ceiling of the Vatican’s Sistine chapel. Well that’s this decan all over isn’t it. In that one image you get god, creation and the occult. This goes with the decans fascination with conspiracy and elite power structures. These folk can be extremely successful within the government, big business, the military or religion. But here lies the paradox, if Gemini decan 3 aren’t working in the heart of these institutions then they will be the ones working to bring the most corrupt ones down. There is no inbetween for these people. It’s all very black and white, you are either best friend or enemy, good or evil, sinner or saint. These twins are not your typical, bridge-building twins, but they are about duality. They sometimes like to play devils advocate but they are not chameleons or shape shifting tricksters. You damn well know who these people are. Even the peaceniks among them are bold and confrontational in their campaigning. They present their ideas in a swash-bucking manner and with much theatre.

Bellatrix is the female counterpoint to her butch neighbour Betelgeuse on Orions opposite shoulder. Both give great military honor, which in modern terms means success in business. Bellatrix is the dare- devil amazon, the warrior queen. With the charioteer also here in this decan it is easy to picture Boudicca. Bellatrix is supposed to make give women “mighty tongues” and a very shrill scream. It gives great courage but can be reckless and fickle in its passions. Bellatrix also has difficulty restraining her feelings, which also causes trouble in relationships. Next up Capella also a Mercurial influence and fickle with its fads. “ It gives honor, wealth, eminence, renown, a public position of trust and eminent friends, and makes its natives careful, timorous, inquisitive, very fond of knowledge and particularly of novelties.” Phact in the dove, the bringer of good news, so yet other fortunate star. This one brings kindness and a gentle nature, which can sooth out the other more risqué sides to this decan. The dove is timid, but underneath has a powerful spirit. It has artistic talents and a great sense of rhythm and timing.
We will get some illustrators and media people here since we also have the artists easel in this sector. Then we have the three stars of Orion’s belt which Robson called Cingula Orionus; “The joint influence is to give strength, energy, industry, organizing abilities, notoriety, good fortune, lasting happiness, a sharp mind and a good memory.” A weird theme that keeps coming up with these stars is females seen as “shrews”?! Nice medieval term there for a strong woman I guess. Another trait that comes up is envy from others. I think this may just be that these people can rub people up the wrong way with what their arrogance. The problem with this high status zone can be that Gemini decan 3 does actually think they are God. Well you can’t blame them really with all those lucky, high-voltage stars.
Media Gods & Business Tycoons
Gemini decan 3 can easily suffer from hubris. Although they have a great interest in theology and myths, the only higher authority they will ever listen to is themselves. But even the most violent looking star in this decan, El Nath (on the left horn of the bull) is considered lucky. “It gives fortune, eminence and neutrality for good or evil.” It generally makes one a good lawyer or diplomat with great mental energy. You can clearly see the tropical Gemini archetype here. The polestar Polaris lies very close to Betelgeuse on the ecliptic, but is in fact far, far away due to its 60º latitude. It is a way-shower and a guide to eastern cultures, yet western interpretations say it is mostly unfortunate. “It causes much sickness, trouble, loss of fortune, disgrace and great affliction, and may give legacies and inheritances attended by much evil.” I would only consider this star if the orb was really tight, like within 15’ as Betelgeuse overwhelms Polaris tenfold.
Onto the mighty red giant now. Because Betelgeuse is so extreme, it’s beneficial effects really depends on where is placed in the chart. George Noonan says Betelgeuse gives a superior athlete when rising and even fame is promised, but the person is moody with an anxious mind. If setting on the other hand that mind becomes “disturbed,” and fame will come when dead and buried. The Ebertins say of Betelgeuse “Placed in the angles, preferment, luck, success and everlasting fame are promised.” Fame, wealth and success seem to be the theme with planets placed in Gemini decan 3, though there is always turbulence and the chance of ruin perhaps due to the sheer force of the stars of Orion. Ptolemy gives Betelgeuse the nature of Mars and Mercury (Motormouths!) and you can clearly see this theme running through the whole decan really. Not everyone with Betelgeuse prominent will be famous. In fact there were not that as many celebrities as expected when I researched this. So I think famous in the business community may be more true for this star. Heads of massive companies could be on my astrology database, (Solar Fire) but I would not recognize them to put them on my list below. Gemini decan 3 are the zodiacs over-achievers, the want to learn everything, 7 different languages if they have to. They are greedy for knowledge and masters of commerce. They instinctively know how to wheel ‘n deal to the very top of their profession. Creativity is high, some fine artists, but mainly I think it would be in the area of commercial art, advertising and design. Keeping the wealth in the family is important, so the fertility in this section will probably go into spawning as many heirs as they can to the family fortune. Otherwise, the more altruistic Dove types will set up trusts and charities, passing on their legacy that way. The “fortune” could also be information and wisdom, like a library
