Now that Mars has joined Mercury, Pluto and the North Node in Capricorn there’s a deep reservoir of energy from which to draw upon. While the Moon has been making her monthly visit to Capricorn, she’s hanging out there today, as if to welcome Mars. After all, today this planet of divine will moves out of truth-seeking Sagittarius, and into the sign of goal-directed Capricorn. Now we take those visions that were fostered by Mars’ zealous tour of Sagittarius, and shape them into some kind of form that will add to the benefit of the collective. Capricorn is the sign of Mars’ exaltation – and no wonder, since Mars knows a thing or two about ambition as much as Capricorn does. But a plan is required to scale the grandest heights, along with daily steps to reach the summit of the mountain. In the earthy sign of Capricorn Mars helps to ground and direct your energies into those pursuits that will realistically bear fruit. It’s also a potent reminder to act in accordance with the Earth. We learn the value of time and what it means to spend it productively, under this five-week long influence. On that note, pay attention to your perception of time. Although Saturn (ruler of Capricorn) deals with absolutes and measures the passing of Time, it feels more malleable these days, does it not? Mars is about action and Capricorn is about manifestation of tangible goals. These energies combine as if to say, “What I do matters.” This is all the more highlighted by Mar’s conjunction with Mercury, Pluto and the North Node. It’s a reminder that attending to your priorities is linked with the potential to stumble upon a new path (North Node) that has the potential to empower you (Pluto) and awaken you to your highest calling (Mars conjunct North Node and square Uranus in Pisces). Perhaps this is the most valuable gift any of us could hope for over the impending holidays. |
