Mercury, planet of communication, has moved into the sign of Capricorn where he will stay for eleven days before retrograding back into Sagittarius. We’re already in the shadow of Mercury’s three-week long retrograde phase, so you may notice a preponderance of communication glitches for the duration of the month. While it’s wise to allow extra time for commuting, and to double-check the details of appointments, there’s no need to let your life come to a grinding halt, regardless of what you’ve heard about Mercury’s infamous retrograde transits.
There’s some cosmic symmetry at play on Wednesday, for Saturn – ruler of Capricorn (and hence Mercury’s de facto boss for now) – is joined by the Moon in Libra. So there’s a strong Saturn-Capricorn theme kicking off this Mercury transit. It’s as if the Moon has intentionally timed her monthly sojourn with Saturn in order to kick-start Mercury’s annual stay in Capricorn. There’s a pressing need to align feelings, minds, and bodies. Pragmatic concerns move to the fore as well, and we become more aware of the passage of time. This is intensified by Mercury’s conjunction with Pluto and the North Node over the next several days. It seems we are all moving towards greater emotional maturity, whilst taking our places on the world stage. And the world is as big or as small as you decree.
