As I consider some of the people whom I’ve encountered over the years, that have provided excellent leadership, I realize that it is through modeling the very behavior they would hope to see in others that they have inspired so many to reach towards something greater. It’s about walking the talk. This is worth considering while communication planet Mercury is conjoined with leadership planet Mars in Sagittarius, which embodies the energy of the Teacher. (I am referring not only to academic teachers, for we are all teachers to each other.) The problem (if you choose to see this as a problem) is that Mercury is in the sign of his detriment while in Sagittarius. This can be reflected in communication that’s big on ideas but hollow on stuffing. There’s the potential for do as I say, not as I do. And so, as Mercury comes close to wrapping up his tour of Sagittarius, part of the lesson involves leading by example. Mercury and Mars team up as if to say: Let your actions be your voice. Hence the axiom that actions speak louder than words.
The Cosmos has provided a rather convivial backdrop in which to consciously Be (Mars) the Word (Mercury) you speak. Venus (grace and harmony) aligns in a friendly and proactive vibe with Mercury, each of whom flows effortlessly with Chiron (healing and mentorship). As it is, Venus is hovering on the final degree of her own sign Libra, so there’s some urgency to mastering the delicate art of social relations in general. And Saturn’s long-term stay in Libra really helps drive the point home.
A possible wrinkle in this day arrives courtesy of the Moon in Virgo’s opposition to Jupiter and Uranus retrograde in Pisces, while Mercury and Mars square these two giants. In a nutshell, the potential is there to get all verbose and preachy. But what’s also true is that Moon in Virgo reflects the soul’s need to be of sacred service to others.
