Venus Retrograde trine Chiron and Neptune: To Remember Is To Promote Peace

It’s Remembrance Day – also known as Poppy Day, Armistice Day and Veteran’s Day. Mercury plays Taps on the bugle, while Mars the Warrior puts his artillery aside in consideration of his fallen comrades (Mars in freedom-loving Sagittarius sextile Saturn in peaceful Libra). Through fairly benign aspects, the rest of the planets seek assurance from one another that Peace can co-exist, in spite of boundary disputes or differences in ideology. In the great unfolding of the Cosmic Play such quarrels are ephemeral, though we become entrenched or overly identified in our differences. The Moon is in Capricorn and squaring diplomatic Venus, whilst sextiling General Jupiter and Revolutionary Uranus in Pisces. Each of the planets that Luna contacts today is retrograde, as if to suggest it is our duty to question our own behavior if ever Peace is to reign.

Venus retrograde in fair Libra, and Neptune in humanitarian Aquarius are linked by their common concern for Peace, for Neptune is the higher octave of Venus. Along with Wounded Healer Chiron, they trine each other today. Though Chiron and Neptune were retrograde for months, they are now in direct motion. It’s time to act in accordance with our highest values, rather than merely reflect upon them.

And because Neptune in Aquarius inspires the imagination with visions of utopia, I close my eyes for one minute and picture army upon army laying down their weapons in recognition of the divine spark they see in the whites of their enemies’ eyes. Their battle cries give way to a more tender song:
Let there be peace on earth and let it begin with me.
Let there be peace on earth – the peace that was meant to be.
With God as our father, brothers all are we.
Let me walk with my brother in perfect harmony.
Let peace begin with me; let this be the moment now.
With every step I take let this be my solemn vow:
To take each moment and live each moment with peace eternally.
Let there be peace on earth, and let it begin with me.
