As Mars makes his way through Sagittarius, he is now joined by Mercury. With eight degrees between them, they’re close enough to be considered conjunct (that is, joined). Whatever you’ve got to say (Mercury) will be infused with passion (Mars) – perhaps even a streak of temperament. There’s also a bit of the know-it-all when Mercury and Mars get together in Sagittarius, famous for teaching. It would behoove us all to strive for greater knowledge and wisdom without pontificating (she says with knowing irony).
Something else in today’s planetary set-up catches my eye: it’s Pluto – considered to be the higher octave of Mars. Essentially that means that Mars and Pluto have a similar vibration, but Pluto takes Mars’ ego-based concerns and works them into more soul-oriented goals. Pluto is the planet of deep transformation, and is now exactly conjunct the North Lunar Node in Capricorn. The North Node points to our global dharma – the direction we’re all heading towards. The combined energy of Pluto and the North Node intensifies our collective journey towards emotional maturity. It also suggests that we will eventually re-define the meaning of success, a very Capricorn concern. Is success based on salary, on career status…what do you think?
