October 15: Venus retrograde in Scorpio
It may appear as though Venus has pulled the blanket over her head and is refusing visitors; after all, she’s now retrograde in privacy-seeking Scorpio, and making no aspects with other planets. The phone machine is on, and you can leave a message. But don’t be fooled for one minute into thinking that Venus has curled up for a nap. She may be laying low, but that’s to give her an opportunity to do the kind of self-examination she requires right now. Through Venus, questions like where am I now? and how did I get here? rise to the surface for answers that won’t come easily without daring to delve into your shadow. Don’t be afraid; there’s nothing in that shadow you haven’t already seen before. But you might just be able to make a beneficial change by taking responsibility for your triggers.
There’s something about Venus in Scorpio that I can’t help likening to an angel of death. After all, Scorpio energy is connected to death. But Einstein has taught us that matter is neither created nor destroyed; it is simply transformed. And that’s the crux of Scorpio: decay, death, then transformation or regeneration. If you’re currently witnessing a loved one who is in the process of moving from this plane to another one, the idea of transformation (as opposed to death) may bring more comfort. The veil between worlds becomes increasingly thin when Scorpio energy is at play; our loved ones are as close as a thought and a prayer. And Venus retrograde in Scorpio may offer the grace and wisdom to see the underlying spiritual principles at work.
