Since Sunday is governed by the Sun, let’s see what the planets are up to, with an emphasis on the star of our solar system.
October 17: Sun in Libra trine Chiron and Neptune in Aquarius
If ever there was a day to forego work and to just go with the flow, this is it. The soul (Sol/Sun) yearns for balance (Libra) through rest and recuperation, as symbolized by its trine with Chiron and Neptune (each retrograde) in Aquarius. It’s a wonderful day to take in a film, especially if it’s outside the mainstream, or if it’s connected to themes around global unity and humanitarianism. Water On the Table is a documentary by film-maker Liz Marshall, which “asks the question: Is water a commercial good like running shoes or Coca-Cola? Or, is water a human right like air?” As Neptune rules water, and Chiron speaks to healing (hello Gulf of Mexico), their presence in globally-minded Aquarius speaks to the commoditization of water. Something to think about next time you’re thinking of purchasing a bottle of water. This film has been nominated for a Gemini Award for Best Documentary, and I encourage you to get your hands on a copy at your local video store.
