October 23: Saturn Stands Alone
Mercury has flown from Libra’s airy realm, and the Sun is poised to do the same. This leaves Saturn as the sole planet in Libra. He makes no aspects to the other planets, as if to re-enforce his solo status. And I wonder if this solitary energy highlights the sense of loneliness that can creep in, even when you’re amongst people.
If you look at the chart below, Saturn also happens to be leading the rest of the pack in a locomotive chart pattern. The motivating factor underneath all of our interactions is a desire to clearly decipher our place with others, and our place in the world at large. As Saturn continues his two-year tour of Libra all of our relationships (including the one you have with yourself!) will come under scrutiny – whether these are friendships, romances or marriages, family bonds, or workplace colleagues. And Venus, ruler of Libra (and Saturn’s boss during his transit of Libra) supports Saturn now while she is retrograde in let’s get to the bottom of everything Scorpio. Both of these planets are helping us examine the ties that bind – and whether or not we wish to remain bound by them.
