Coming to you, rather sternly I see, from deepest Cornwall, with some ideas about some long-term aspects.

Astrology of Now: Fresh Moon
Today, the innocent Aries Moon finds herself at odds with Saturn in Capricorn. Lady Luna is fresh from her immersion in that wonderful watery Grand Trine, where she — and possibly we — learned a little bit more about what makes us connect to each other. Some of us may be feeling emotionally refreshed — or even exalted. That’s Scorpio, Pisces, Cancerian types, especially. And some of us may be finding all this emotional stuff, this delving into the past, this dreaming, psychic energy, is just too much, too wet, too icky. As I write this, the Moon also makes […]

The Ashmolean Synchronicity
So the Ashmolean Museum, the oldest in this country, tweeted that it was 335 today — because it’s really old and really up-to-date at the same time! I couldn’t help but get the chart up, assuming that a sunrise chart for the day would do — and lo, dear readers, there was a piece of utmost astrological synchronicity. I did a double-take. Uranus, on May 24, 1683, was at 0° Taurus — just as it is today in 2018. This seems quite fitting for a museum, which is about artefacts that explore and explain ideas, a perfect example of Uranian […]

That Royal Wedding
The bride, a Leo, was radiant. The groom, a Virgo, appropriately hot and a bit bothered. The crowd was many and varied. Some of the guests looked like they’d walked off the set of Brazil, in rictus for the TV cameras. There was, it appeared, a genuine cadaver at the wedding, and an actual silver witch. The address from Bishop Michael Curry was so good, it might even have impinged a little on the consciousnesses of a few. It was a right Royal wedding. It was showbiz as usual. The wedding celebration began at noon, but vows were exchanged at […]

What Astrologers Are Saying About Uranus in Aries
Surely, this is one of the most exciting changes in the firmament that we have seen in years. Today, May 15, Uranus, the planet of change, moves into Taurus, the sign of stasis, where he has not been since 1942. Think of this planet and this sign as two constellations of ideas that are about to meld. Of course, Uranus is a planet with an energy that is really quite contrary to the earthy, practical, extremely fixed sign of Taurus. Uranus is the revolutionary, the rebel, scientist, genius, Prometheus who brings fire to humankind. He is the God of electricity, […]

Astrology & Fashion: Papess Rihanna
Pop mogul Rihanna strode into the Met Ball dressed as a She-Pope a few days ago — and she looked awesome, in the true sense of the word. Indeed, she appeared to be channelling the goddess herself. And no wonder — truly she is blessed by the gods of beauty and mystique. She has a lovely conjunction of Moon (allure) and Venus (beauty) Rising in Aries, the sign of the pioneer, the warrior. She is always brave in her fashion choices — and so on point. And look at Neptune, the god of glamour himself, right on her Midheaven. And, […]

Astrology & Fashion: Audrey Hepburn & Hubert de Givenchy
One morning in 1953, a slip of a girl turned up at the atelier of Hubert de Givenchy, one of a group of young fashion designers striving to put Paris back on the map as the post-war capital of fashion. She was wafer-thin with short dark hair, thick eyebrows and huge eyes. She wore narrow black capri pants with ballet pumps, a t-shirt and a gondolier’s hat with the word Venezia written on the band. She wasn’t what young M. Givenchy had been expecting at all, so at first he was disappointed. He’d been waiting for the famous Hollywood superstar […]
