When two reality TV stars meet in the Oval Office behind the big desk, you know the world is topsy-turvy. Well, we are where we are… and here at The OA we love a great picture. The official White House photographer(s) just keep on giving… What’s also interesting is that this week, Donald Trump did exactly what Ms. Kardashian had asked him to do on this occasion, and pardoned Alice Johnson, a 63-year-old black grandma serving a life sentence for a first offence drug crime. So Kardashian’s trip to the Oval Office was a success. Clearly, she read the president […]

The smug and squishy features of one Arron Banks, the millionaire who bankrolled the campaign to leave the EU last year, are all over the British newspapers today. Why? Because he’s been shown to be a world class liar. He said he’d met some Russians a few times but it turns out he was deep in a Russian bear hug. The implication is that he could possibly have been the conduit for Russian funds into the Leave campaign, which tipped the balance of last year’s referendum. Whether he’s a traitor remains to be proved by the police, but he’s certainly […]

Was there ever a more Gemini image than this one. Twins reading on a moving train? This painting was made during the last tour by Neptune, the planet of the imagination, through Pisces, his own sign. Neptune is, of course, currently in Pisces also, and there are some obvious parallels between that time and this, which we can see depicted here. Have you been on public transport recently? These days, people peer into phones not books so much; they watch whole movies, or music videos, or TED talks. They dive deep into other worlds, through the medium of a tiny […]

This extraordinary photograph taken at the G7 summit was released today by the office of Chancellor Angela Merkel of Germany. It kind of says it all — and it’s a great composition too. From the right by Sun sign: Trump (Gemini, eternal child), Bolton (Scorpio, grand vizier/power behind the throne), Abe (Virgo, meticulous pragmatist), Merkel (Cancer, Mutti), Macron (Sag, internationalist wunderkind), May (Libra, equivocator), Kudlow (Leo, roar). Not sure who the men flanking Abe are…

Coming to you, rather sternly I see, from deepest Cornwall, with some ideas about some long-term aspects.

Today, the innocent Aries Moon finds herself at odds with Saturn in Capricorn. Lady Luna is fresh from her immersion in that wonderful watery Grand Trine, where she — and possibly we — learned a little bit more about what makes us connect to each other. Some of us may be feeling emotionally refreshed — or even exalted. That’s Scorpio, Pisces, Cancerian types, especially. And some of us may be finding all this emotional stuff, this delving into the past, this dreaming, psychic energy, is just too much, too wet, too icky. As I write this, the Moon also makes […]

So the Ashmolean Museum, the oldest in this country, tweeted that it was 335 today — because it’s really old and really up-to-date at the same time! I couldn’t help but get the chart up, assuming that a sunrise chart for the day would do — and lo, dear readers, there was a piece of utmost astrological synchronicity. I did a double-take. Uranus, on May 24, 1683, was at 0° Taurus — just as it is today in 2018. This seems quite fitting for a museum, which is about artefacts that explore and explain ideas, a perfect example of Uranian […]

The bride, a Leo, was radiant. The groom, a Virgo, appropriately hot and a bit bothered. The crowd was many and varied. Some of the guests looked like they’d walked off the set of Brazil, in rictus for the TV cameras. There was, it appeared, a genuine cadaver at the wedding, and an actual silver witch. The address from Bishop Michael Curry was so good, it might even have impinged a little on the consciousnesses of a few. It was a right Royal wedding. It was showbiz as usual. The wedding celebration began at noon, but vows were exchanged at […]
