All The President’s Crimes

Trump fans, stop reading now. You won’t like it. US President Donald Trump may have done Americans a favour by revealing just how much the system has rotted, and how much needs repairing. While Obama was like a lovely bandaid on the running sore of corruption in American politics (with a touch of Bach Rescue Remedy), Trump has acted like a great big magnifying glass. Meanwhile, in the rest of the world, as the living personification of the “ugly American”, he’s done “the best” job. So this week, some of his crimes have been exposed in court. And some of […]

Astrology of Now: Perfect Legs

When the planet of disco balls and silver suits, that is Uranus, dances in perfect time with that stately waltzer Saturn, you know you’re in a peculiarly potent sort of season. Of course, Uranus and Saturn have been doing this all summer from early Taurus and Capricorn respectively. This is a frictionless but productive aspect. This week, the Sun will join Uranus and Saturn from Virgo, creating a perfect Earth Grand Trine and triggering that energy into a circuit. All Earth signs — and Aquarians — could feel a wave of ease and energy. If you want to make something […]

RIP Aretha Franklin

Aretha Franklin brought everyone who listened to her glorious voice closer to heaven while she was here on earth. She seemed to her audience like a living vessel for the divine. Her voice seemed to effortlessly catalyse emotions. Just a quick look at her chart is instructive. • There is her label “Queen” of Soul. Look what she has rising: Juno, the Queen, in Scorpio, the deepest sign of all. • Moon (soul) is in Cancer, it’s own sign, so super-powerful, and making an exact trine to her Mercury in musical Pisces. Mercury tells us how we communicate — and […]

The Goddess Weekend

Oh those neglected asteroids, floating around in the Kuiper belt wastes, ignored and even derided (as a bunch of rubble behind Mars). Well, no longer. The Oxford Astrology Group will be devoting an entire weekend to Ceres, Pallas, Vesta and Juno this September — and you are cordially invited. I’m very excited to be participating. I feel privileged — and a little awed — to be working with Lynn Bell and Faye Cossar, two of the smartest astrologers teaching today. If you have never heard either of them speak, you are in for a treat (and some serious brain gym). If […]

August Correction!

I got myself into a Uranian switcheroo with the Aquarius horoscopes. So sorry Aquarians, I got it backwards — how Uranian is that? Corrections have been sent out twice, but with the mistake still compounded in the first one! The correct one is also accessible from this site — to get there click here. I’m blaming Mercury Retrograde, of course, but I suspect that Uranus turning retrograde now needs his own personal post for everyone. Uranus turns retrograde on August 7 at 2° Taurus.

August Horoscopes are up for OA members. You should have them in your inbox shortly, if not pick them up from the site. Enjoy … it’s quite an interesting month astrologically, with a lot of potential (if you handle the peculiar energies well). To read your horoscopes or find out more about them, click here.

Juno and the Axis of Desire

This year Juno, the asteroid named after the goddess of marriage and commitment, will be spending a long time in Taurus, a sign associated with passion, desire, obstinacy and obsession. Taurus is, of course, the opposite sign to Scorpio — also a sign known for obsession, obstinacy and lust. Together, these two, fixed earth and water, create a powerful axis of desire and ownership across the Zodiac. Taurus asks: “What do I want?” Scorpio replies: “I can give you what you desire, but you must pay the price.” These signs are associated with sex and money, jealousy and enslavement. The […]
